| What a load of tosh.
This is what really annoys me about the RFL and the Communist Cap and the whole system atm.
The game was woeful. It's like watching reserve grade football at best, yet still it dominates "Rugby" in this country.
Ireland get all the plaudits for winning.........wait for it.......FIVE matches.
Well whoopie do.
As if that wasn't bad enough Brian O'Driscoll gets treated like a god, voted MOM etc etc
He is average at best. He would just about make the Warrington Centres (if Matt King was having a REALLY bad day ). Play him vs Gidley, Senior or Carmont and he would look like what he is, a very average rugby player.
Yet despite this the RFL fail to market our game as they should. Instead of promoting the game they drag it down via the CC. This is what makes me really angry.
Fantastic athletes, great skill and superlative commitment, handcuffed by an inept governing body who live in the 19th Century.

| Exciting for those involved with such a close scoreline but for the neutral it was absolute garbage.
How many stoppages with scrums, line outs and penalties?
Tomorrow morning's press will give the details but I'd bet that they were going on 60-70 stoppages in the 80 mins.
RL Fans would never put up with that rubbish, ever!

| I can't be doing with it all. A super 14s game was kicking off when I was flicking channels so I thought I'd have a see if it was any better than RU in this country. One team kicked off, other team caught it and kicked it straight into touch, I turned over.

In order to win the RL World Cup, England needed to win 5 games (well actually 3 would have done). To win the Four Nations we'll need to win 4. Your point?

RU play their internationals in massive Stadiums like Twickers, Millenium Stadium, Murryfield, Stade de France & Cork park and they are almost always full! Is it any wonder they generate so much revenue with some tickets at twickers going for about £70 quid. Say what you want about the game but they can pull the crowds in for their international games and also generate a hell of a lot more media attention for them 2
Why can’t we get Wembley for our internationals this year instead of the JJB etc? We used to play GB games at Wembley and it makes the sport look a lot more professional imo if the team plays in the national stadium.

Clearly there's an appeal to the game that some here can't comprehend
FWIW, having played Union and therefore aware of the intracacies of the forward play, I can appreciate and enjoy a good game. However, good games are usually found in the Super 14 or Southern Hemisphere international grade.
Also, the kick tennis is annoying for a player as you're forever running up and down and adjusting the line depending on who has the ball. Personally I'd rather be running it up or about to nail an opponent; not watching two Full Backs try for their equivalent of the 40/20.

That's because it's the 6 Nations tournament....

That five international games on the bounce isn't easy to win maybe? Especially when your playing against teams of the same calibre to yourselves.
Wigan can’t even win five SL games in a row never mind England doing it against a team of the same quality not an under strength NZ team or PNG

Give over.
For a start 2 of those are Italy and Scotland.
So that's the "Cas and Wakefield" of the Six nations taken care of.
Essentially there are just 4 teams in the Six nations that have a chance of winning.
So essentially win 3 games and you are guaranteed the title.
Add to this the fact that the skill on display was at the best "average" and more realistically "rubbish"..........
Now what exactly IS your point?

As stated though, it gives the game more stature imo.

You claimed that they get the plaudits for winning a mere 5 games. My point is that had England won 3 in the World Cup, or should they win 4 in October/November then they will rightly get the plaudits as Tournament winners.
Had we won the World Cup would you have deemed it insignificant as we only won 5 games?
Alternatively, is New Zealand's win insignificant due to them only winning 4?
