I personally think Nobbys made the right call. Ainscough will get back in after a few games but I agree that experience is the way to go right now. Plus I don't believe you should ever change a winning team even if it is against Celtic.

I'd have struggled to find a place in the 17 for him tbh but to not even name him in the 19 is a right kick in the teeth for the lad after the season he's had so far.
His stats show that he's been a real strong player for the team this year even if you take out his trys and to pick a lazy waster like Pryce ahead of him in the 19 just doesn't sit right with me.

| I know we have to have Richards in the team (I prefer him at full-back) but Aincough is more of a natural winger. There were a couple of times last Sunday when Pat received cut out passes giving him an overlap but he didn't go down the wing. Ainscough would have.

| Pat didn't look 100% last Sunday.
Let's hope he's fit this weekend and has brought his kicking boots with him.

I think he must have lost the kicking boots on the way to Australia for the world cup because since then he's been truely awful.
He's looked like an amature.

Leaving the leagues joint top try scorer out of the side is rank stupidity in its own right but to put both Pryce and Phelps in the 19 makes it even worse.
The excuse last week was Celtic were an easy side to that was the game to rest him in.
What's the excuse this week?
When is he going to play again? If Nobles past record is anything to go by when one of his favourites gets injured.
Noble - please leave now!

I think we all knew deep down when he got dropped for the Celtic game that it would be the last we saw of him for a while.
Noble trots out the same old excuse everytime we get well beaten in a game that the youngsters looked jaded in the game and that maybe we have a few too many in the squad.
He just doesn't seem to have the balls to drop some of the more senior players that are at the root of the problem.

If there were any such antics why didn't he drop him for that game? I presume Wigan took more than 17 players!
If he has been dropped for disciplinary reasons why say he was rested v Celtic and be giving interviews singing his praises today? That is just hypocritical.

| Certainly, he would have played in the first team last season if he had not suffered an injury, and he has proved beyond doubt that he can
prosper in the senior ranks."
Noble added: "Don't forget he has been playing at the highest level with England juniors for some time, touring Australia with the Under-18s squad, where he forged a powerful reputation.
This is a Nobby quote.
If this is the case why sign Roberts when we already have Ainscough, Richards, Phelps and Pryce who can play on the wing?
I like Roberts, but I'd sooner see Luke Bailey etc at our club this season, but another winger.

Because coaches don't normally wash their dirty linen in public. Ainscough was disciplined last season, and that never came out either.

| hmm - I agreed to give him a week off but two weeks off is ridiculous he has outplayed both Pat and Amos this season and deserves to start most games.
Hopefully he'll start vs Saints at murrayfield.

There is difference between washing you dirty linen in public and telling outright lies. In the last two weeks Noble has sung his praises twice yet the rumour is he has been dropped for disciplinary reasons.
In any case what is the problem with stating the reason he has been dropped IS for disciplinary reasons if that is the case? It shows the club won't stand for poor discipline whereas covering it up is inherently more dangerous because it leads to rumours and speculation that drags on, which is IMO more damaging than being upfront.

So if Ainscough has done something stupid, it's still Noble's fault.
