Lam has said he’s having a period of rest now from games to work on his hip and try to get it right. It’s the right call and I’m glad they’ve come out and spoken about it. Lam has said they’re all gutted for him with how things have gone and he’s gutted that he’s been unable to contribute. He’s asked the fans to try and be understanding. I called earlier in the week for them to start talking about it and not just sweep it under the carpet. If people know how frustrated he is they’re likely to be more forgiving and not jump to the conclusion that he just doesn’t care and is happy to pick up his money.


He needs to take as long as it takes, even if that is the rest of the season IMO. When he comes back next time we surely need to see him visibly looking far more comfortable and mobile to then have the confidence he can get over this.

Has anybody actually played RL following a hip replacement ?

Given the situation it's the best news we could ask for really.

I know that I'm one of the ones that has mentioned him retiring, but I really hope it doesn'tcomes to that. There's nothing more I'd love to see than GB smashing it in cherry and white.

He didn’t have a replacement just resurfacing and to be fair he’s a shadow of the player he was.

Really hope he can be right for next season, it'll be tragic if he has to retire like this.

Aye and he’s about 18 months on from the Operation and is still ‘recovering’ and finding his way back. No use for a RL player, in a squad sport with a salary cap.

If it’s as serious as hip replacements then he’s done you’d imagine. It may be that he decides to battle on and try and drag a career out but he’ll be no more than a passenger. Fingers crossed it’s not that bad and that was some work he can get it right.

Really pleased that this has been addressed, his reputation was suffering each time he attempted to play.

He looked like he couldn’t run in the Catalan match so it was pretty clear he couldn’t carry on much longer.

Over to the medical experts to see if he can continue.

My concern is why it took so long. We’ve been saying it since the first game of the restart. I genuinely hope he gets it sorted, not for the sake of Wigan but for his own health and well being firstly. Secondly for the good of Wigan. If he can get back to just half of what he was he is one hell of a prop forward.

We still look like mugs, though. It's hard to escape the idea that Souths knew exactly what they were doing when they unloaded him.

Apparently from the golden point podcast, Lammy has said it’s just a knock to his hip and there working out a plan to get him fit again. The injury was played down for obvious reason. Hopefully he does feel he can carry on and build up some form once they help him

I’d say it’s doubtful if that’s true but who knows.

Got to say I didn’t even notice he had played, interesting to see if he can carry on now, I just can’t see it.
