Good source suggests our team will be Ratchford, Lineham, Evans, Atkins, Russell, Gidley, Patton, Hill, Clark, Sims, Hughes, Wilde, Westerman; Sandow, King, King, Bailey. I'd trust the source.

Kicking game is key. Little kicks in behind Lineham for Tierney to chase. Lineham has the turning circle of a Virgin Pendolino. High bombs up to Russell for Charnley and Gelling to contest.

I'd bring Flower in for Shorrocks and leave Powell on for the full 80. I think it will be Flower for Bretherton though.

Lockers not even a chance then! Who will be captain, Farrell? Bretherton and Wells to miss out for me, we need Shorrocks on the bench even if he is only there to cover for injuries. Wire learned the hard way in the 2013 Grand Final what can happen if you stick four forwards on the bench.

Bateman is adequate cover for a backs injury.

Matty Smith is captain.

Agreed, but he isn't adequate cover for an injury in the halves or hooker. If (god forbid) we lose Williams, Smith or Powell early and don't have Shorrocks on the bench, we are knackered. It's not like Wire don't have form for trying to take our halves out either (Westwood on Green, Sims on Williams)

But arguably high kicks to Tierney and Sarginson could be our ploy.
As a wire fan I'm excited about match ups all over the park.

Gelling / Atkins will be very interesting.

Clark around the ruck and kicks to Tierney will be where they'll likely get us.

Stop Hill, easier said than done and Clark becomes a lot less effective.

We haven't coped with Clark particularly well previously and I'm not sure what we can do on Saturday to stop him other than target him in defence to significantly increase his workload.

Is Sandow playing? If so they have an abundance of strike around the middle of the park.
-Need to stop Clark eating up the metres from DH
-Stop Hill before he can run at the line and null offloads
-Line speed on Sandow and Gidley

That hurt at the time. Well, for all of half an hour. If we win tomorrow, I doubt many will remember a Super 8s game that settled nothing (not even the LLS in the end). If we lose tomorrow, then there'll be incidents in tomorrow's game which will mean much more.

A gamble if he does but as a utility option from the bench in place of Shorrocks (who's unlikely to do more then 15/20 mins anyway), I think I'd take it.

Definitely worth playing him if deemed fit, two spells at loose to start and end the game for me. A very useful player to have out there during the opening 'softening up' period due to his experience and outstanding defence. Isa to drop to the bench, Shorrocks to miss out (Lockers is adequate cover for halves and hooker, Bateman covers the backs).

I'd bring him on after 30 mins and leave him on until he's struggling.

Can't believe this is even being discussed by Wane, he's not played for two months, Clark, Ratchford and Russell will murder him from dummy half.
Might as well have someone sent off as we'll be playing a man down anyway.
