Since the win on Saturday I have spent a bit of time on tinternet looking for hotels for the final at Wembley, hoping to get one a bit cheaper before the finalists are known.

The questions I am asking are am I jumping the gun by doing this and are Wigan supporters thinking that the hard work as been done by winning at the Wire.
Also how tough do fans think it is going to be against Saints?.

I think we'll get there, if i were you i would get booked early...unfortunately (or maybe not) i'll be on my last but 1 day of 3 weeks in south east Spain come August 27th , so i'll be watching on Television with a few bottles of Spanish White wine by my side ...think i might be flying home with an Hangover though

That depends on whether you're happy to go and watch a St Helens v Leeds/Cas final. If you are then book it now, if not then don't. There are many of us who go every year irrespecitve of who's playing.

Spurry,I think that what Wigan-Knight is getting at is that in the 2007 semi all Wigan thought was that all they had to do was turn up against Catalan. Wigan lost app 37-24.

But do Wigan fans think that the hard work has been done by winning at Wire.

Go anyway. It's a great big Rugby League day out, irrespective of who gets there. Only reason I didnt go last year is because I couldn't afford it.

Theres about 20 of us who booked on for the final back in May because its my uncles 50th so a massive up is on the cards

.. however it would be great to see Wigan there and not Saints

Ive booked the White Hart in St Albans for Wembley.

They dont charge if you cancel and is reasonably priced.

Train from St Albans to Wembley is about £8 return.

St Albans is really nice and Andy Farrell lives there!

I'd erased it from my memory as i had with the Salford game in 1996

i ended up watching Saints/Bradford at Wembley that year...good game though

lucky i was to drunk to remember 90% of the game..so my scaring is not that bad.

I'm not as confident as I was prior to the Wire game for numerous reasons (ok that confidence changed a little after the Solomona try) but I still have enough belief in the lads. Only going for the day anyway.

For the Cas final in 1971/72 we drove to Stanmore,parked up then caught the tube to the match, after the match back to Stanmore,picked the car up then on to St Albans for the night. May have been the same Hotel as you have booked.
May be a better option than what I have been planning,the Holiday Inn At Heath Row..

A Saints v Leeds final would be the most irritating outcome possible, mainly because no way do Leeds deserve to be at Wembley this year.

If Leeds reach the final, it will definitely prove that Wembley is ALL about the luck of the draw.

I was pretty optimistic all last week before the Wire game and always had a feeling we would win. The pressure was all on Warrington with home advantage and the way the media were portraying them as the saviour of entertaining rugby. Wigan were allowed to go quietly about their business and put in a great performance on the day.
It's different with Saints. They haven't beaten us for a few games, they have some big name players back and will go into the game as underdogs, whether rightly or wrongly.
It will be a tough game and in all honesty is a far far bigger hurdle than the last two semis we appeared in and we know what happened in both of those.If Wigan aren't on the very top of the game there is every chance that we will have to put our first appearance at New Wembly on ice for yet another year. Anyone assuming that we are already in the final needs to take a big reality check because this game could go either way.

Don't post that on the Wires board...

Maguire has the knack of seeing wigan win the big games, this won't be any different.

I have an uneasy feeling about the game.

They looked to have woken up since we beat them and I hope people don't get fooled into thinking this will be easy. If we win it then i'm guessing it'll be by less then 6 points and it really could go either way.

It's probably a tougher game then we faced against Wire because Saints look to have all their big players back on board.

My thoughts exactly. Out of interest I priced up some hotels on Sunday morning but the results and then the draw on Sunday put me off booking anything. Like Wigan_Knight I'm mindful of the Catalan disaster and I'm just not into forking out that much money to watch two teams that I don't particularly want to win. I also looked at trains and BE AWARE there are engineering works or something in between Warrington & Crewe so there is a replacement bus scheduled to take an hour. From there about an hour and a half to London. An easier alternative is to got to Manchester and get train from there.

Saints are finally goiing into a big game in decent shape injury wise, especially if Clough plays in the first team and comes through this weekend. We'd only be missing Perry/Gardner/Wheeler I think.

Pryce back is massive for us - gives a lot of calmness and confidence to us in attack and allows Lomax to do what he does best. Wellens is also fit again after a rest as he's been playing with knocks most of the year. The good form of Roby, Lomax and Wilkin is rolling on too.

Really looking forward to the game - should be a cracker, although I think Wigan will edge it on the back of the forwards. With Perry fit I'd give Saints more of a chance, but I think you'll have too much up front.
