Very poor isnt it, the kit directive clearly states that hudds should be wearing their principal(home) kit. Mistake is all Hudds.

Its a Huddersfield home game I dont understand how there was any confusion!! Are they so thick cos they had to get on a bus they thought they had to wear their away kit?

Home team, home shirts, mind you I can understand it if they thought they were playing away, there weren't any Hudds fans in attendance.

It's a disgrace that Huddersfield can't play their home games at their own stadium.

It was a disaster and embarrassing for the sport. Will anything be done about it?

Also don't teams carry an alternative kit? Surely that's not difficult and eliminate anything like this happening again.

I have to say I'm confused with the whole situation?

Why were they playing at Fax again?

Wouldn't mind if hudds were 100 miles from home, could've been there and back to galpharm in about an hour.

I saw this on facebook and just cringed, it's dreadful.

Personally, i bet that that's happened in every sport at least once, i'm not embarrassed, it's just a small hiccup, people are human mistakes happen.

Surely any pro-sport would need to define up front what kit they were wearing for the game so the ref could see if there was likely to be a clash. Not exactly rocket science.

im pretty sure this happened in the championship a few years back i think it was a lost kit and they wore the home teams away kit might of been a reading game not entirely sure

Huddersfield informed the RFL they would be playing in their white strip and this was SANCTIONED by the RFL.

Cas should have come with their home kit but brought the wrong one. It was either CAS or the RFL who made the mistake. That is why CAS were made to wear the Halifax kit.


The match commissioner has been interviewed by Sky & he said that it was down that Castleford would play in there home jersey's & Hudders would be playing in there alternate jersey's... Sadly Cas didn't pack the right kit & didn't bring a spare! Hence why they are in Halifax's!

So if you're the home team you don't have to wear your home kit anymore?

The RFL issue a kit directive at the start of every year telling each team what kit they have to wear for each match. Huddersfield were down to wear their home shirts as the home side and Castleford were down to wear their away shirt.
I can't understand why the RFL would sanction a change for no apparent reason.

Apparantly. So no matter what the RFL decide, you can write to them and say....

Dear muppets,

We don't want to wear out home kit this week, we fancy playing in our away one, even though we're at home. So, you tell Cas, or not. But because we've let you know, it is no longer our problem.
