Also I think Jon Clarke deserves a big day and he did start at Wigan. Respect for any player who does 10 years at one club - its becoming rarer.

It was too busy in that side standing area last year and the year before, if I remember correctly. I do however, remember when I went along with my wire mate to a friendly vs Hull KR, HKR were allocated the stand that is opposite the usual away end.

I don't think theirs a set rule for it but it's generally 10 years later rather than 10 seasons later.

For Example Andy Farrell debut 1991-92 Testimonial 2002
Terry O'Connor Debut 1994 Testimonial 2004
So debut April 2002 Testimonial 2012 makes most sense.

However Mick Cassidy's debut was in 1992 and his testimonial in 2001.

ps I still think it was a total disgrace that Neil Cowie didn't get one! He deserved it for his unsung efforts. Especially when Denis Betts got one - he didn't even do ten years straight!

He made his debut in 2002, presumably getting a testimonial this time next year.

I don't say open it because of potential violence, more because what "LewCharnock" alluded to - it was way too packed two years ago for Lee Briers game (was behind sticks last year in seats) and both clubs rise up the table will only make it worse. Theres no sense in having the away end closed.

I'd Email both clubs make them aware of how it was last year and how this year you'll think there'll be a notable difference in attendance and interest due to both clubs winning the two major trophies on offer.

i say open it too. last year in the friendly, there was about ten of us (wigan fans) mixed in with all the warrington lot. And quite a few times guys were coming over giving us abuse and making threats. Although it didnt turn violent, it only took a reaction from any one person, and the whole thing would have gone off. So i say to avoid any of this, open the away end.

I think you spend more time at Orrell than you do in your back garden.
