| Just read his article in this weeks League Weekly and this part intrigued me:-
''The challenge facing the Wigan chairman Ian Leneghan and the enterprising marketing department at the DW stadium is to come up with a one-off kit for the match that allows St George to wear their famous red V- just as Leneghans predecessor Maurice Lindsey recognised the importance of allowing Manly to wear maroon back in 1987, when Wigan turned into Canterbury for the night.''
Firstly he clearly does not remember Wigan wearing Cherry and White on one of their most famous nights!
But is a one off kit a good idea for the game, maybe auction it off after the game like the Catalan kit? I dont think St George play in anything other than White and Red.

| If we had a mainly red kit, then we kill two bird with one stone. Firstly, a kit that looks fricking great, and also no clash with the mainly white St George kit.

Another classic from Andy Wilson. Mind you, I doubt he was even born in 1987. Which explains a lot about his attitude to the game in general.

| Hopefully our new home kit will be simple cherry and white hoops with the away kit the same in blue. I'd be quite happy to play in blue and white hoops even if its at DW.

St George do have a change strip , it just happens to be red and white hoops . I personally can't see the problem with them both in their first choice kits , wigans kit is predominantly red with white hoops and St George All white with a red cheveron , there is no real Clash, it's just the modern era of the sponsor demanding the use of a change strip to help sales .

Why on earth do they let a side have red and white as a home kit, and a different variation of red and white for an away kit We could just both play in our away kit then, like Leeds and Warrington should have done in the CC final. Having said that a special WCC kit might be a good money spinner, I know I'd buy one if they made replicas, especially if we won!

| Why dont we just wear our away kit?
Secondly, im sure of more interest to fans is can IL challenge the RFL's insane pricing for events and can season ticket holders have their own seats, despite it being an RFL game.
Lastly, Andy Wilson once again proves he is a tool.

Aussie teams dont seem to like using any other colours than their traditional ones. Look at South Sydney- home kit is green and red hoops with black side panels. away kit is green and red hoops with white side panels Those crazy aussies

| I think a kit for the occasion would be great. Make it really retro.
I'm pretty sure we wore Cherry and White for every WCC though

That's because nothing clashes with their traditional colours and the red and green is very much their 'brand' so they really want to emphasise it.

Many times now I've noticed Andy Wilson applying subtle negative pressure to Wigan.
There was Richard Silverwood having "his best ever game" at Huddersfield, when the reality was that he gifted them tries through repeated back-to-back penalties, ignored their hight shots and grapple tackles and sent two of our guys to the sinbin for technicalities. There was his reference to the "wobbling Warriors" who were not as good as Warrington and for whom a victory over St Helens was "inconceivable". Then there was his non-prejudiced (honest, mate!) take on Danny McGuire "colliding with George Carmont".
So it's no surprise that he now appears to be trying to make life difficult for us re. the WCC. Planting the idea that we should give up our home colours to accommodate St George, and that it will be somehow short-sighted and unsporting if we don't (and basing this whole argument on the false premise that that we made this honourable gesture this against Manly ). The reality is, as you say, why the hell should we?
Wilson is jumped up little Guardian squirt, who, as usual, seems to be following his own agenda.

Exactly. I am pretty certain before the idea of an away kit caught on we used to play Saints with them in their normal strip of mainly white with the red V and us in the traditional hoops. There is no clash.
I think people forget clubs only used to change strips if there was a clash of colours not just because they were away from home. Away strips (as opposed to change strips) are a consequence of marketing, that is all.

| As it been decided that we're at home? I haven't seen an official announcement yet.
Anyway, it seems to be a bit of a fuss about nothing.

I've not seen any of their away shirts recently, but i'm sure they used to do their away shirt as part of a homage to Illawara steelers, the other team they merged with, who's kit was mainly red, with white.
Much like Wests tigers usually have balmain esque home kit and the away usually is based on the wests magpies jerseys pre merger.

| St George's 2nd shirt is red
The hooped one was their heritage shirt from a couple of seasons ago. Their current heritage shirt is a red V.
