| With a full team ie. Coley, Micky mac, O'Carroll even Bailey we missed today just for his sheer size plus fully fit Roberts and goulding and I'd fancy us big time against Wire.
We had Tuson Propping today who tried his heart out but come on hes was the smallest player in either pack never mind Front row. McLlorum and especially Coley was missed big time.
Although i do agree that its an area we can improve next year.

As you say, we badly missed McIlorum & Coley today, but too many others had poor performances as well, I've never seen Prescott & Fielden make so many mistakes.
Credit Wire, though, they capitalised on our mistakes a lot better than we took advantage of theirs.

| Strange how an old fella like Morley can crash his way through almost a whole game making tackle after tackle and run after run, yet our lumbering quartet can only manage a maximum of 20 minutes before they need a breather. Fat Fekka - well, dont get me started on his stats!
If I were Fielden, Prescott or Coley I'd be pretty bloody embarrassed that Morley can still manage that and they cant and probably never will.

| Even with Coley I think we would have been beat, if Fielden and Coley are kept on next year and Jeff Lima is signed we still need another prop with Davies and O'Carroll as back up to them.
Prescott can go for me as he makes too many errors when it matters the most as shown tonight, Leeds in the cup and Wire early on in the season when he knocked on and Solomona went over in the corner and knocked on saving him embarassment.

| How can a couple of knock ons once the game was over blinkker so many peoples views on what was a terrific performance by Prescott.
Get rid of Fielden he cant hack it against the big boys he knocked on planty of times and twice was when he wasnt even getting tackled.
Bring in 2 of Lima Bailey or White and get shut of Fielden and Feka
Props....
Lima, Coley,
White, Prescott,
Mossop, O'Carroll, Davies.

| It amuses me why we go straight to the props.
Although its true we need a new prop and were lacking tonight, our pack as a whole was outplayed particularly in the first half.
As good as our young back rowers are, and were tonight - we are missing that big experienced back rower too. There pack bullied us tonight, particularly Morley.
I'll be the first to admit I had no idea why we were considering Hoffman. But from what I've seen tonight, we may need him for the 2 years he's signing - particularly for games like this and the play offs. That is if we want to be successful.

If you think that Prescott was better than Fielden tonight then I really question your knowledge of the game.
What we'll do is wait and see the stats from tonights game, they will probably be in Mondays League Express.

| If Coley had played, the outcome may have been different. Wigan only had 2 "real" props in the 17 tonight, so we wre always going to struggle - particularly when Fielden got the "big hit" after 15 minutes and Mossop got injured.
Reluctant to criticise Madge, but as against Leeds, when subs Farrell only played a few minutes and Tuson not at all, it may in hindsight have been a mistake to have Deacon as sub and only use him for the last few minutes. Surely Davies or Feka would have been a better option - size/physical power is what was needed and sorely lacking.

Prescott is strong, runs hard and sometimes good lines. Unfortunately his ball retention in the tackle is pitiful. It has been the case for a good few years, and so long as its the case he won't be good enough for where we want to be.

| I always feared we'd struggle up front with just two genuine props but I didn't think we'd struggle as much as we did. We needed Fielden and Prescott to have big games tonight for us but they didn't produce

| Well question my knowledge i wont lose any sleep.
Watching the game again now. The first half Prescott came up with some big plays especially the big hit that forced Morley to knock on really early which helped us to get on the front foot early on. Fielden on the other hand made 2 maybe three knock ons one being on the first tackle when we was 20 mins away from thier line. Which was without being tackled or being under pressure.
Prescott had a bad last say 3-5 mins were he knocked on twice i think but the game was already gone. They will be included in the stats but in all honesty didnt matter one bit. Stats can lie at times but yeah wait to see the stats if that will make you happy.

I love Tuson. He has the heart of a lion and is a tackling machine. That said, he's simply not big enough to play prop.

I agree. From what i saw tonight i would definatley fancy our chances v Wire in playoffs with a fully fit team.
Tonight in the first 20 we outplayed them. But our pack as a whole got tired due to our lack of Props (size). That led to our creative forwards ( J.Tomkins and Lockers ) having to do so much hard work it took away there attacking edge and for me that is were our biggest advantage lies against virtually every team in the league our back three.

In 11yrs of representing the L.Warriors / NW Counties, i dont recall that he ever once played in that position.
I'm not exactly sure what SW/MM have in mind for him?
Stick him in the centres / on the wing, and Chris would be in his element.

I think both were poor tonight and i doubt very much either of them will be starting props next year if they are even still here. In the big games like tonight and the playoffs in recent seasons big players shine. They havent and therefore dont deserve a starting spot. 3rd and 4th prop spots would be about right.
