think this could be fieldens first full pre season for years. last two years hes had surgery and before that he has been on international duty. first day back in and out on the hills! doesnt look easy for them this year and rightfully so.

But as previous regimes have said "you can get 2 sessions a day in working on firm pitches in the sun".....................bol*ocks!! We play the first 2 or 3 months of the season on heavy pitches in the freezing cold and the players need to be conditioned to that.

They'll get no sunshiiiiiiine at Salford on a freezing cold febuary night.

Any ball skills we work on in the mud and cold of Orrell will serve us well early on. If they want dry weather training book them in the soccerdome.

Lanzarote was a joke. All sorts of rumours went flying around about disruption in the camp. The whole cliche ' three weeks in one week' proved to be rubbish with our terrible start to the season. It takes a Brian Noble coached side half a season to find their way which wasn't good enough, as by that time Saints and Leeds were out of sight. We finished 6th last season and fell short in the play offs again and I put that down to our poor first half of the season.

Our first half of the seasons have been appaling for a long time now and thats needs addressing.

If only we'd had even a 50% start to the first 10-14 games of the season over the past few years we'd have been on for a much higher league position.

I don't see the point in the warm weather training when the only advantage is that........warm weather. We have great facilities at Orrell and no warm weather until May onwards over here so why bother! Get them condition to putting in the tough yards in tough conditions.

Too right it always bemused me the whole training in the sun crap. We start off in winter so the players should get use to it. Get the buggers running.

Just like to say though, Joel must be brave I bet his legs where stinging if I was there I would be tempted to Bacon slice them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty certain they have been hill running in the plantations every pre-season going back to the Frank Endacott days. Also don't be too shocked if there's a pre-season tour early January.

I was about to ask a serious question as to where Feka, Piggy and Karl Pryce are on this picture until it struck me that we are probably looking at the stragglers.

That would be awesome if Bitcon had come in and after a week, Piggy and co where turned into world class cross country runners.

You are most likely correct, this is just good PR work from the club. But much more of this should be encouraged IMO.

I walked up this bugger a few weeks ago, as a complete novice it was a 'ba$tard' to complete (even though my 7 and 5 yr olds thought it was easy)!!
