This is a first and i feel i have to write this. Today is the first time i have gone to a game and felt unsafe. Some not the majority of Warrington fans instead of celebrating a good day for them, spent more time issuing threats to Wigan fans in the North Stand.
On our way out we had verbal four letter assaults, i saw one fan being chased. The worst one i saw which happened RIGHT IN FRONT of a steward was a Wigan supporter being spat on through the fence.
I just hope the idiot who did this reads this and feels ashamed.
I saw numerous occasions where Stewards where informed of this and just didnt do anything.
All clubs have a minority of idiots, but i dont want to see this creeping into our great game more and more.

Wouldn't have had such problems had you been able to sell your tickets.

He probably means there wouldn't have been any wire fans in the west stand. There were two clumps of them. One along the southwest edge and another wedge to their left. If it's any consolation I saw one full beer bottle fly from one group into the other. The worst wire 'fans' noticeably couldn't afford to buy the club shirt.

I was in the North Stand which was half and half and it was not a nice experience. I don't want to see segregation at games but it may end up happening if it carries on.

They've not had enough practice.

at the DW all away fans sit in the north stand and if it overfills they go to the east stand however in soccer matches soon as the north stand sells out there is to be no over visiting fans

I've only been going to games for a few years, and like the fact we can 'big up' our game as being a family sport, and there is no need for segregation, but it seems recently there have been many incidents which tell me there is a problem which needs sorting out, or segregation may be the only answer. I've said in another thread I don't see why home speccies feel the need to sit in the 'away end'. Today, I didn't see the reasoning behind having blocks of Wire fans sitting in amongst the Wiganers, or why they had two split stands.
Emotions can run riot after games, and having gloating opposition fans sat near you can incite anger in even the most genteel folk.

Sometimes it takes two to tango. I had arelative who was in the west stand with other Wire supporters and he said it was six and two threes, so before anyone starts calling the Wire supporters, who on the whole were magnificent look to your own fans. Was it just a coincidence that most of the trouble started after Hick's winner?.

So, are you now saying that Wigan fans stay until the end of games to cause trouble instead of the usual tripe?

Warrington are the most ungracious fans in sport.

On the TV coverage you could make out something was going on at the 'Wigan end' as Bridge was lining the kick up. It was blurred in the background but you could make out the stewards were scuffling with someone. I don't think either set of fans are blameless!

That was the West Stand where there was a mix with Warrington supporters in the southern section.

Deary me today.Both sets of fans were at it. Take it on the chin[No pun intented and move on.

Saints fans are not the best either, but at least they are not violent.
