Sorry for the intrusion - trying to get the name of a prop of yours, circa 1998 or 99, played for one season, Aussie, blondish. Not Tony Mestrov, but same time (ish). Anyone shed any light? Quite a decent reputation when he arrived, but didn't do much for you.

Yeah thats the one that came to my mind. Dont even remember him doing anything though.

Another classic example of a player who looked great at a smaller club, then was exposed as mediocre upon playing for us.

The last player we signed directly from Saints, IIRC.

we signed him from Oldham along with Atcheson and Paul Davidson. He signed 1 year with us (199icon_cool.gif, and looked pretty decent - then in June he announced he was off to Wigan the follwoing year. After that a large number of Saints fans got on his back, and his performances dropped off massively.


In an interview a few years later he admitted it was the biggest mistake of his career in leaving Saints.

Apparently he has a small penis. I was told that by an ex-conditioner from Oldham at a Leeds v Wigan game.

Didn't Carrol seem to want to go head to head with all props like he used to with the Chief? Past his prime when over here and it never worked out for him in 1999. Seem to remember he got HAMMERED by Cowie one time at Central Park, got up, fell over, up & fell over again.
