Just wondering how many of the fans calling for Lammy to be the next coach would be wanting him if he had been an ex Saints/Leeds player who had never worn the Cherry & White shirt?

Is it a case of, he gave his all for the club and played with passion, therefore he must be good sort of mentality?

There are many players that in the past have given their all for Wigan yet people aren't calling for them to be the next coach.

Lam has worked at the club before as u21 coach, worked in the NRL as reserve grade coach and assistant first grade coach and coached the PNG side to a very respectable world cup.

On top of that he seems an articulate bloke who knows the game inside out. You could tell the way he played the game that he was a great thinker and leader and everybody respected him.

I'd be happy enough with him.

Tbh I wouldnt mind Furner If he ever came avaliable seems to be doing well down under with Canberra.

Again, like Shaun Wane he was a very popular ex-player who also showed good coaching promise and equal popularity within the U18/21's setup.

Like Wane, he's another who I would like to see involved with the coaching setup after seeing his coaching/handling of young players opposed to their like-ability during their playing days.

We are a big club, lets get a top manager in. Not someone who loves King St and the party nights.

Agreed - whilst Lam may make a good coach in time, it would be far too soon for him to be Wigan coach. From all the rumours/stories etc that go around what the club needs is a top coach who not only has a lot of experience but who can sort out some of the other issues around the club.

I presume Adrian Lam has calmed down off the pitch since his playing days & there's nothing wrong with him visiting King Street.

That's very arrogant of you. Assuming that a club that has not won anything for several years and is in the lower end of the table struggling to hold a team together with buy-ins all over the place somehow looks attractive compared to any other club in the SL apart from maybe Celtic. You're certainly not going to get a current NRL coach.

At the end of the day, he could be a candidate but your argument saying we shouldn't look at him because he used to enjoy going out down King Street isn't a valid IMO.

I would actually welcome Lam's appointment but only if it were under a Director of Rugby.

Lam was a rugby league genius and technically in all aspects of the game superb. Does this mean he will be a top coach, its not guarenteed but it is a top base on which to build.

His lack of experience may be an issue but with someone like Monie or Murray working over him to guide him and a top backroom staff in my opinion may be the start of a very good coach indeed.

Ok you just focus on that one point and ignore everything else. Go look for argument elsewhere.

Just because you can't handle somebody challenging your opinion doesn't mean it's an argument.

"If" the Wigan coaching job becomes available then I'd like to see someone like, Adrian Lam, Brian Smith, Shaun Edwards or Dave Furner in charge.

Seriously, you need to look at the bigger picture. Go and pick at someone else rather than trying to find holes in people's posts.

The bigger picture is discussing who's best to take over as our coach.
