| With Saints and Catalan just after the Barrow game we need to rest a few key players. Richards & Carmont are our only backs who are actually an attacking threat and we can’t afford to lose them in a game that we should win.
Pryce, Goulding, Farrell and Mossop all deserve the same chance Tomkins got last season against Whitehaven don’t they?
We should be strong enough to blood a few youngsters and still come away with the W shouldn’t we?

| With such a short turn around before I can see several big names rested and fringe youngsters/those who are dropped from first team regualarly. I would go with:
Mathers
Roberts
Goulding
Pryce
Thornley
Phelps
Smith
Prescott
Riddell
Davies
Farrell
Mossop
Flanagan
Tuson
J. Tomkins
Coley
Mcillorum
This should be good enough to beat what will be a spirited and determined Barrow shirt, purely because the youngsters will play with pride and show the first teamers that play what it means to play in a wigan shirt.

A good mix of youth/experience. And i'd like to see what Sam/Smith will do at the halves.

If Noble is daft enough to pick a 2nd team to come up to Cumbria then he is taking a massive risk and might as well box his belongings up ready for the heave ho. Wigan are low on confidence and if Barrow beat Halifax tonight they will be very confident going into the Wigan game. Even with your strongest 13 I think it will be a lot tighter than your supporters anticipate (based on recent performances) I am looking forward to a cracking game all the same.
Play a team of kids and im confident Barrow will turn you over. Im not trying to antagonise, im just giving my opinion.

I'm not saying that there is no respect here for Barrow or saying they are a bad side - but it would take nothing short of Wigan's worst performance in the last 25 years to let Barrow get the win in this match. Your boys may put up a good fight for 40-60 minutes but they will fade away after that...such is the difference in fitness between the two divisions. I hope its a cracker of a game...but I don't see anything other than a comfortable Wigan victory.

| Its quite a tough decision for mr Noble. Rest some stars to have them fit for saints who'll be tired after Leeds and look like a hero if you beat both teams. Probably sacked if you loose against barrow. Play best side and beat barrow and concentrate on the cup? A win against saints will pacify wigan fans for along time.

| I don't think Noble dare rest too many senior players for the game up here with the pressure he is under. If he plays a weakened team and loses that would be the end for him at Wigan in my opinion. Really looking forward to it, but i still think tonights game against Halifax is more important to our season.

All I said is that it's not worth playing our only two attacking options in Richards and Carmont as they are just 2 invaluable to the team 2 lose with Saints and Catalans coming up.
We could possibly still play a very, very strong team compared to NL1 standards.
Pryce should be moved into the centre rather than Bailey.
Joel should have a go at 13 as it’s gonna be his position in the future.
Farrell/Mossop should get a go shouldn’t they?

| 1- Richards
2- Roberts
3- Gleeson
4- Carmont
5- Ainscough
6- Tomkins
7- Smith
8- Prescott
9- Leuluai
10- Coley
11- Hansen
12- O'Loughlin
13- Tomkins
14- Mossop
15- Palea'aesina
16- McIllorum
17- Fielden (Even though he will prob get bullied by the 'Barrow' props)
I would rest Hock for the Saints game whilst he carrying a knock.
I would drop Riddell/Bailey because they dont cut the mustard. I would keep Roberts in even though he has been cackaroony but if Gleeson signs it will bring the best out of him and a bit of practise for the Saints game.

| I agree give young lads a chance however I wouldn't mix it up to much we need practice at playing as team and trying out move. Try moves that don't need to go through Tommy, as I think he was over used in first half against hudd. I'd like to see goulding more...he's outstanding in reserves needs more opportunity without being giving the task of mopping up smith's poor defence skills.

| Can't see Noble bringing in any more youngsters for this one, too risky for him at the moment. It's a no win situation for him...... win, everyone expects this anyway but lose and it would probably cost him his job.
The only changes may be bringing in Pryce, Goulding, Mathers and Smith, so he can rest some regular first teamers...... Richards, Carmont, Bailey, Hock.

| Can see nobby playing our "strongest 17" but with smith mathers etc, but i would play:
Pat
Roberts
Goulding
Pyrce (says he wants to play in the centres and his form at centre in the reserves is good)
Ainscough
Tomkins
Smith
Prescott
Riddell
Feka
Hansen
Tomkins
Lockers
------------------
Coley
Davies (really rate this guy after watching a few reserve games)
Mossop
Macca
Would play Sam and Ainy to try and get there confidence up because lets face it last night they really didnt play well (werent allowed to)

| I would personally give Sam and Ainscough a rest for the Saints game and probably play them in the reserves on Saturday
Bring Mossop in for Hock
Pryce in for Carmont
Give some of the reserves a chance

| FB 5 Pat Richards (K)
RW 2 Amos Roberts
RC 12 Phil Bailey
LC 20 Karl Pryce
LW 28 Shaun Ainscough
SO 25 Sam Tomkins
SH 6 Tim Smith
P 8 Stuart Fielden
H 9 Mark Riddell
P 29 Ben Davies
SR 14 Joel Tomkins
SR 16 Harrison Hansen
LF 13 Sean O'Loughlin (C)
S 11 Gareth Hock
S 17 Michael McIllorum
S 19 Paul Prescott
S 24 Lee Mossop
That team would bring some interesting positional battles to the fore:
LC - Bailey v Pryce
SO - Tomkins v Smith
Prop and bench prop - Fielden v Prescott v Davies v Mossop
other than that might as well play the first team, I don't think we'd gain too much from giving Mathers a run out at full back for example, but we'd certainly be risking a lot.
