Right, I'm informed that the club don't want ANY cash turnstiles in future. 2 cash gates were opened at 2.40pm on Monday to alleviate the queues but in future you will be required to buy a west stand ticket from West Stand Ticket Office or East/South Stand Tickets from East Stand ticket Office.

The time given is a lie, but at least they have been honest about the policy which was being discussed in the queue as a possible scenario...

British customer service at it's best again I see. Why make people queue up once when you can make them queue up twice.

All fans who simply turn up on the day should pre purchase a ticket like they do before big games e.g. warrington and st helens

Thus discouraging some waverering fans, sorry customers, from attending at all.

Alternatively, why not make it easier for people to part with their hard-earned?

Exactly, or those that have to travel a distance as i do. I'm normally early, buy from the office, no problem. But they were selling cup tickets yesterday, did they not think this through? The putors will tell them how many people pay "cash" at the office at a normal game. Its not rocket science...

Why though??. If you do travel and work on a Friday, sometimes it means only getting to the ground with say 10/15mns to spare. Why should we have to go to the trouble of buying a ticket on line with the extra £2 charge, or the cost involved in making 2 trips. This move is very, fan unfriendly and says a lot about just how we are thought of as merely cash cows, or ticket cows.

Truly shocking treatment of the fans, queueing up in the rain, having to give address details, waiting behind people who've lost their season tickets, or want to pay by credit card, or buy challenge cup tickets, or whatever. Disgraceful. Go to any other ground, throw a twenty pound note through an old style turnstile, and you get in in 5 seconds.
How hard can that be?

Well it has to be said that the club failed really I think to make this clear. They just seem to have thrown it at fans. I'll try and point this thread out to them and see if they respond.

This isn't with regards to tonight Man. Utd. match as I can understand them trying to avoid United fans in the Wigan end, but it's getting as bad as the Latics for casual fans wanting to attend. Whelan wonders why crowds are small yet casual fans have to jump through hoops to get a ticket e.g. the well documented case of Roy Keane being refused a ticket despite having been to several matches at the DW previously as a neutral fan.

I wasn't impressed with this when I turned up at 2pm for my first home game of the season thinking there was a cash turnstile for the South Stand. Instead I was made to queue up for 20+ minutes whilst the painfully slow staff in the Ticket Office dealt with the ever lengthening line.

Speak to the police upon the advise of whom, Wigan Athletic have said policy.

I don't think there has been a cash turnstile on the SS all season.

How to put off non season ticket holders. We can only attend about half the games each season hence no season ticket. Now the club is making it difficult for us to obtain tickets on the day or we have to pay an additional booking fee. Probably means we will miss an odd extra game or two, particularly if it's lashing it down with rain.
Very bad idea. Wonder if the club will give a reason for this change.

Most probably, and if you can't get people in, they won't spend at the outlets either.

I'm sure LM will respond at some time. There must be a reason for it, although I can't think of one.

It will be the moving of the cash i would imagine, so much easier if we all pay online beforehand for the stadium.

People can still turn up on the day you just need to go to the ticket office before the game. If everyone has a ticket at the turnstiles it will reduce the lines as you just scan your barcode and go in

We did, but the queues at ticket office were much longer than normal. The staff there must have had a bloody nightmare!!!

but if the club say they are selling them from the east stand ticket office isnt that the one between the East and South stand so that to me says that you will only be able to buy tickets for that game in that stand i could be wrong but that how i read it
