I was very saddend/dissapointed with the number of fans leaving the game early these are not true fans of the club and wont be at leeds/hull kr away if you dont want to 80min of RL dont come to the stadium.

Yep the Wigan walk was in full swing last night, i'd rather these people turn up though and get 20k + every now and then than just have a solid base of 14k supporters every week who stay till the end.

I agree, I hate all this I am a better class of supporter than you because of this that and t'other. Some people have perfectly valid reasons for leaving early and sometimes not being able to attend games and as you say it is hardly a crime to do so.

All them that left wouldnt had left if we was beating the wire, didnt see many leave against st george or hull fc

Many studies show that the reason people watch sport is unpredictability. Once the outcome is no longer in doubt, the game is over as far as some people are concerned.

We could have been 4 points ahead or 4 points behind, and we'd still have an element of the crowd who would decide to leave before the end. I am amazed that the result could hang on the last play of the match and they leave, but that's just the way it is. All teams have these kinds of fans.

I pay my money and will leave the ground as and when I feel like it. I am a grown adult and a passionate Wigan fan. I didn't leave early last night, but have done in the past, this is my choice. I find it quite arrogant of you to say people who leave early aren't 'Real Fans'.

I would rather have 14,-15,000 loyal fans than 3-,4000 part timers

I think all true fans should stay behind until at least an hour after they have switched the floodlights out to prove how good they are.

Only an hour?. Pah...real fans would stay for an hour whilst the lights cooled down, and then clean the bulbs too!

I'm surprised it took as long as it did for this thread to appear. Personally I found it very difficult to stay until the end last night, but I'd be just too embarrassed to leave a match early. That's just me, each to their own. I certainly don't think it is a criterion of being a "true fan".
