Wigan Warriors are delighted to announce that they have smashed the 10,000 mark for full price season ticket sales. The Club have only broken the 10,000 barrier once before, in 2008, and the news comes on the back of 2010 when Wigan became the ‘Best Supported Rugby League Club' with an average attendance of 15,723.

obviously some people wont be happy that the extra fans are coming on the back of success, but at least these fans are commiting to a full season. I prefer that than the one's who just attend the "big matches".

You'll always get fair weather fans. So long as they help pump up the atmosphere, it suits me.

Hopefully in 5 years or so, these sorts of announcements will be heard across 4 or 5 clubs.

Whoever is not happy about more fans turning up should go an support Latics, pathetic attitude to have. This is great news for the club!

It maybe that the extra ST holders this year were regular walk-up fans anyway thus not increasing the att THAT much, id say if we have a season like last then our average att will be around the 16-16.6K thus increasing the average by around 1K.

As a new season ticket holder I would have had one last year had I not been living in Germany, and before then if I had had the money.

well done wigan, with wigan now back as the top team and playing really good rugby could we see crowds of 16/17k plus crowds

Great to continue the upward trend - the club has been going in the right direction in this department since all the way back to 2003. Hopefully we may even be able to break 11k for the first time.

What you couldn't just fly in for home matches?

We were getting those crowds in 2006 when we were cack!!

There was a time when I got my first season ticket, that was probably about 1986 and I've had one ever since, welcome them with open arms and if you're lucky they'll stay, make them feel unwelcome and your future starts to look a little less rosy.

Good decision to all the extra season ticket holders! I'll be getting the girlfriend a half one when the time comes as she cannot be coaxed out until the sun is a bit higher in the sky.

Not quite yet, but I think that average would rely on decent away support like the wendyballers have

Well why would IL say if if he didnt think we could acheive the 20k figure as he knows away support in SL is very low compared with wendyball, i think its acheiveable if we win a few more trophies in the next few years.

That's a great effort in tough economic times. Wigan also have a sensible pricing policy which helps. Maybe other clubs could learn something from this.

If it makes the ground feel more like home I'm not botherd how many we have at it

They seem to hold the price as well,think i kicked off last year there cos they put the price up by a quid for the first time in several seasons,like you say other clubs should take note!!Reduce the price and get a stadium that is nigh on full every other week,better than it being half empty every other week!!!

Really wanted to return to ST's this year but the OH simply hasn't the money so it's week by week again this year for us (despite the fact that we never miss a game).

When we calculated it, neither of us save all that much by having a ST against paying week by week.

Don't have one myself due to work commitments and living away but will definitely make sure I make it to at least 9-10 games.



I think the prices went up quite significantly this year in some areas.
