The Brigantes are hoping to have quite a display on Saturday and we could really do with someone with a video camera to record some videos for us! Whether it be from the stand we are in or (ideally) from one of the other stands. All the videos we have so far are mediocre to poor quality phone camera footage, we could do with something a little better quality! With almost 10,000 views on the YouTube page it just needs a few better quality videos. Let me know please folks!

i think people will be watching the match tbh..........but would be nice if the tv people showed it.........could then be edited on youtube via the iplayer.

Hopefully there'll be a fair display before and after the match, maybe as the teams come out. Of course I wouldn't expect anyone to miss any of the match just to record a part of the crowd

Have you guys decided where abouts in the SS you will be collatIng on sat?

By sheer luck you ended up behind me in the QF and i'd quite like to get infront again & help make some noise!

I'm having a meeting with the Warrington Safety officer Friday Morning at the ground and the location of where the Drum/Drums need to go will be decided at that point along with what we can and can't do with the flags.

Our initial feeling is that the Drum/Big wavers will need to go around the 25 yd line.

I'm in touch with Drum & Drummer and I'm taking some of the actual flags on Friday a.m with me to be stored overnight at the ground in readiness for the game.
I'll update everyone on what's been agreed around Friday Dinner.

Everyones assistance in complying with what is agreed with the Warrington Safety team would be much appreciated

What's wrong with simply being a Wigan RL Supporter?

Nowt mate. I think the idea behind a name of a group is that it brings some sort of organisation to things. It may or may not have been just as successful if we'd have just said lets all meet up as Wigan RL supporters and try to get this, that and the other going at games but I think a name gives it some focus. We're all Wigan RL fans, it just a badge to try and organise people who want to follow the club in a certain way i.e. the songs we sing, the visual impact we want to make etc

My limited knowledge had Brigantes as being some form of Celtic Tribe with an affiliation with the Romans!

Not at all mate, I see your point. There is nothing wrong with being a Wigan RL supporter, we all are! I think it is more a way of expressing that support (not a level of how much you support the club/team, we all love the club just as much!), in our case through flags and singing and jumping up and down, others will think it is daft and of course they are completely entitled to think that! I think having a name and an identity helps fans, with similar ideas who want to join, to find us and get involved and helps us be more organised with things like speaking to safety officers at clubs. It also allows us to stand together at away games and create a good atmosphere (I do think the atmosphere at away games has improved) but also to keep out the way of those who don't want their view obstructed by flags and banners, we realise that not everybody will want what we do and it would be unfair to impose ourselves on them.


You couldn't be more wrong here, without sticking to the rules set by Wigan and working with them there would be no Brigantes (certainly not at the level it is now), there would be no flags up at home or away games. Members of the group are meeting the safety officer at Warrington tomorrow to hand over some flags and discuss what we can and can't do, people have been giving up their own time all week speaking to various people from Warrington/Wigan/the RFL to sort out what can happen on Saturday. A lot goes on behind the scenes by people who don't like to brag about the hard work they are putting in, statements like yours are wholly untrue and damaging to the reputation of these people!

I'm a bit too old for all the bouncing up and down but it's great to see the fans organised, passionate and enthusiastic. The flags are fantastic and the singing is superb. It was brilliant at Saints and Warrington, when our fans, led by the Brigs outfanned both sets of their supporters.

Keep it up.

i was a sceptic, like you, until i went to a fund raiser and found out what they are all about.

where do you think all the posters in the Old Trafford changers at the GF came from?
who erected the flags?
who waves the flags at matches.
and more to the point......who paid for the flags?

they are a growing bunch of passionate fans, who give up lots of time to show the players how much they are appreciated......and the players do take notice.

my knees wont hold up for more than a couple of minutes bouncing, but i'll be waving my NEW BRIGANTE SCARF round my head until the athritis kicks in to my shoulder.

these guys dont want questioning....they want commending and supporting.......and feel free to join in...its not an exclusive group
