If we had to choose a winner who would it be and why ?

I took Leeds as well, but debated it within myself for many hours before

Saints will win, Leeds are out of form and have too many players missing for various reasons.

I appreciate the sentiment, but the spirit of the thread is really to pick one of leeds or saints and say why. I would guess most are quite neutral on the game itself, its more which set of fans will be more unbearable

We have to work on the basis of how it will help us.

Assuming that continuation in the cup will provide a distraction from the league, my head says that Wire beating Catalan would be most desirable, though the heart obviously says different, and in any case, knowing Warrington, if they lose in the semi, it's quite possible they could suffer a massive collapse in morale, which would also help us. So there we are, it's definitely Catalan in that one.

The other is less easy to call. If Saints, who I think are the most dangerous of the big three, reach the final, again it's good for us in that it keeps their mind on something else - at least for a short time. But, for me, Leeds look this year as if they have put ALL their eggs in the CC basket. If they go out in the semi, they look less likely to get up again for the play-offs than Saints.

Therefore, it's a Saints v Catalan final for me, boring and one-sided though that would be.

Assuming Cats lose I'd prefer a Saints win v Leeds for a better final.

Thats like asking if you prefer to be punched in the face......Or Kicked in the Man vegetables!
However, I dont think it would do some Whino's fans ego's any harm if their team won jack-all for say the next year or 10.

Tbh, I'd hate to want Saints to win 2 weeks running, but I think a Saints win makes it less likely to be a warrington win overall.

I'd have to go for St Helens

. Leeds' dirty tactics p*£"ed me off last week, i don't want to see them near a trophy. Also i'd quite like to see a St Helens & Wire final. 2 Lancashire teams and would make for a cracking game.

Have to say i'd rather Saints win it, at least their fans have a sense of humour. (Saddened is the exception)

I really don't want the challenge cup to die as its one of only two meaningful comps that all SL teams are involved in. Leeds v Catalans at Wembley would be a real turn off so as daft as it sounds I probably want Wire to go through too.

I'll be backing Saints.

They're our biggest rivals but they're a good club with decent speccies from my experience. I can't say i've always encountered the same decent fans at Leeds and an element of their players need knocking down a peg or two.

I just don't want a Saints vs Wire final. I couldn't bring myself to go to that, which means me missing a final for the first time in quite a few years. I just want a team I'd prefer to win and neither of those fit the bill for me.

Want Leeds to win, but Saints will batter them by 20+ points

Saints to win for me. And then Catalan to beat them at Wembley as revenge for 2007

Being the true Billinge Wigan fan that I am, I'd have to support Leeds.

But the possibility of a Wire v Saints final I can quite warm to. The thought of them knocking seven bells out of each other (and that's just the fans) [size=5only joking[/sizeat Wembley sort of appeals to me.

And if the game is as good as their clash last week, it would be great spectacle for the neutral.

So to summarise Leeds v Catalan

I can just about forgive Wigan fans for supporting you know who against Wire as it was better for Wigan blah blah blah but how can anyone bring themselves to cheer for "them" on this occasion.

I would have always said Leeds but after the last few matches Leeds players have really got on my nerves, no respect for any of them.

I could say the same about Graham after the Wire match also but I'm going to go for [size=50Saints[/size
