Stevo came out with an absolute classic. On the build up to Gleesons try referin to the pass from lockers he said 'had goulding been fit and had it been a better pass wigan would have scored'. A play the ball and a try later on the replay 'beautiful pass from O'loughlin'.

Just watched a couple of mins of the game after getting back and found 1 classic from Stevo early 2nd half!

Something along the lines of "That's 6 or 7 penalties in a row now to Wigan" Just as the Penalty came across the screen showing Wigan had only got 5 all game up to that point (8 to Leeds).

I don't even find Eddie annoying anymore, I actually look forward to his anti-Wigan comments, they are amusing these days. He is getting increasingly desperate - along with lots of the RL world - as Wigan rise again and as we get better and better so it becomes easier to simply laugh at what he says rather than getting riled by it. All the predictable mentions of us not being in the CC semi-finals (when the Sky team normally go out of their way not to mention the cup!) and the play-off defeats etc do nothing to wind me up because the future is looking very bright indeed for Wigan.

Supporters of other clubs must wish their club was in the position we are at the moment - probably the best team, certainly the best squad overall (thanks to our fantastic young players, take a bow Mr Wane!), the best coaching staff. Next season the team will be stregnthened even further by our sensational signings, we will start big favourites for the SL title next season I suspect.

Sorry, I missed something out... we have of course got the best fans in RL, who after following their team loyally through a very dark period in the club's history have now got the team their unrivalled support deserves.

Bring on the play-offs, we have nothing to fear. Its time for other clubs to start fearing us again. I can't wait to cheer on the boys in cherry and white. Wigan are back and Edwardo isn't the only one who is going to have to get used to it.

I think that supporters of many teams feel that Eddie and Stevo are in some way biased against their team, or are saying certain things just to aggrovate them due to this percieved bias. I'm not convinced that it is really the case, though. Given that when watching games on TV, emotions are running high and people are perhaps a little quicker to take offence when matters pertaining to their beloved team are at stake, coupled with the fact that television commentary is probably quite a difficult thing to do. Of course commentators will have their own personal preferences re teams and outcomes, but I think that Eddie has always shown real professionalism. It must be a bit like being a referee - so many people assume that a personal preference will over ride the striving for professionalism that is always going to be there. We do not generally blame the players in our own teams who grew up supporting different teams for the losses that those teams inflict on our teams with the same loaded language. Yet it is the same basic premise.
Eddie does a good job and always seems to be impartial. This is not to say I don't disagree with him sometimes, or that he doesn't make me wince sometimes, but I do not think that he really has some secret agenda against any one particular team. I just think people read more into his comments than is really there.
