Quote ="Last Son of Wigan"I think 'side effect' is a little off mate. It's more of a compliment on how versatile French is meaning he can adapt and play in numerous positions across the back line. Having such adaptability and skill surely highlights a great signing.
Personally I want French on the ball, as a 6 (in the right system) or as a 1. But if he ends up dislodging a winger cos he's playing better, then so be it. It's upto them to step up; that's exactly the position you want to be in with your squad.
side effect... not so sure bud.'"
Poor terminology but I think you get the jist of it.
I too want French on the ball, as I’ve said give him the ball in space and there’s not many who would catch him. I’m just unsure which position is best, I think we could come up with reasonable arguments advocating him for most, if not all, back line slots.
