Sam is improving our attacking threat considerably. "The Move" is starting to look a bit slicker and Sarginson appears to be the biggest beneficiary on last night's evidence.

The early season criticisms of Matty Smith were - on reflection - probably a bit harsh. His kicking game was first class every time and he is playing without the weight of expectation on his shoulders.

Our scramble defence still needs some attention and we have an annoying habit of players shooting out of the line leaving gaps - especially when teams are on a roll against us. When we need to keep it tight we go into headless chicken mode.

George Williams has insane footwork. If the kid could perform close to his best every week he'd be a shoe in for the England team (suspect he will be anyway).

Salford are far too good to be f***ing around in the middle 8's and will turn plenty teams over before the end of the year.

Did anyone else notice that there was a live YouTube stream of the game last night? Seemed very odd that a) it was there and b) that it wasn't advertised. My guess is it was a bit of a mess up because I don't think they're allowed under the current TV deal.

George has contributed 6 try assists and 1 try in his last 3 games - terrific.

When the lad hits form he's a joy to watch. His footwork, movement and pace is fantastic and his short kicking game is second to none. He's already benefitting from playing with Sam Tomkins and I expect that link up to really kick on over the rest of the year.
