Quote An Air Ambulance was called when John Walker was knocked out during an Under-20s game on Saturday.
The helicopter landed on the Edge Hall Road ground pitch at half-time, whisking the forward – who has one Super League game under his belt – away to hospital.
Coach Michael Maguire, who witnessed the incident, said: “Thankfully John should be okay.
“It was a freak incident, the ball was kicked and hit him straight between the eyes and he was out for a while.
“The Air Ambulance was a precautionary measure but we didn’t want to take any chances.”'"
