Quote ="Bergen Bulldog"I just think it stinks, if it was Wigan who'd done this all the other clubs would have been on the RFL's back to do something about it.
We were slaughtered, and correctly so, for busting the salary cap but in my opinion this is no different as it's against the spirit of the game.
I thought you could only de-register a player if they'd suffered a serious injury, Dobson was injured so I've no problem with that. What annoys me is that Mason is fully fit and available for selection but because his Tongan passport hasn't come through Hull KR have been allowed to de-register him & re-register Dobson.
The RFL are a farce and should have said to Hull KR that as Mason was fully fit they couldn't de-register him.
Anyway the floodgates will open now with other clubs doing the same and the RFL can't do a thing about it as the precident has already been set.'"
Not so.
Wigan didn't 'bust the cap'.
Wigan deffered payments into susequent fianancial years there by remaining under the cap (all be it with money owing to players which was scheduled to be payed in later year(s)).
