As ever a detailed report, I often rely on these to fill me in as I don't get to as many games as I used to.

I am a little concerned however with the references (not just from yourself Bilko) to Piggy's kicking style, wondering how long it will take for someone in the media to put to and two together and make five, particularly as it seems some journos trawl this site and others like it for their stories.

It only sticks in the mind because of the uproar about Eidur Gudjonsen's supposed "Nazi Salute" in the papers last week.

I wouldn't worry about it mate. If he was a Nazi, he would use his right arm. By the way, nice to see the BNP losing all their deposits in Wigan.

Anyone know the penalty count?
There seemed an awful lot of them.

I have seen massively higher penalty counts than this, but I was getting mighty frustrated at the penalties we were giving away on Saturday night. Surely we didn't need to push our play to the limit against the team that Widnes managed to put out. I really think that our discipline will cost us in an important game this season, it seems like we can't help oursleves from giving stupid penalties away.

Having said that I thought that Mr Childs was as pedantic as any ref I've ever seen. I thought he had a really good start to his career but he seems to be growing like all the rest of them, looking for the slightest excuse to penalise any team for the slightest misdemeanor. Some of them on Saturday had everyone around me shaking their heads in disbelief. I'd have no chance playing in Super League, I'm so unfit that I'd be blowing for tugs after two minutes and giving penalties away at every tackle I made for breathing to hard on the tackled player!

But seriously though, my point is that I go to watch rugby rather than how clever the ref is at spotting insignificant technical offences in the tackle. By all means the ruck does need policing but I suggest we are taking it too far.
