I still fail to understand why they don't see the importance of communication with "the outside world". Accepted that many matters must remain confidential, but that surely doesn't mean that they can say absolutely nothing. And, if there is a valid reason that they can't talk, why don't they at least say that?

I responded to a poster who said one of the stumbling blocks to salvation was the training ground, by asking who the would have signed a longer lease on the training ground than stoop when they knew we were leaving........I didn't say that the lease was longer, just asked who would be responsible if it was.

You have a bee in your bonnet regarding my stance on the failings and errors of the CEO, yet Gus and I still communicate directly in a civil manner.....why is it you are so upset? I blame Gus for the non-required name change and I blame Gus for the drop in fans by 34% on his watch. I also blame him for the move away from a perfectly good rugby stadium, I blame him for our homelessness, the "home" games played away from home last year at the request of the landlords, have I mentioned the reduction in Season Ticket sales?, the farcical situation with a cricket manufacturer supplying our kit and very very limited club shop stock.....I don't blame him for Shooting Kennedy, but I believe he may have been in Dallas that weekend......GUS Knows what I blame him for, yet he still communicates with me....while you get y? It's been like this since we had the first Broncos fans forum website. They must be doing stuff and will let people know when something gets sorted. The club have always kept schtum on things. I can't see that changing. A greater air of transparency would be lovely. But as Gutterfax correctly points out on other pages. This is a business. And unfortunately one we are not shareholders in.

Not legal shareholders in a ltd company. But "fans" invest their cash in the form of tickets, refreshment, replica shirts and so on. Many sports clubs recognise this but it seems to have escaped London Broncos management entirely.

I admit I was told that information in good faith, one year on facilities did not seem a major disaster, but something that had to be dealt with. What you have been told, I accept my information was wrong. But the truth still is there are matter that still need to be still resolved, the sooner the better, but in times of silence people will always speculate, as did Hetherington and yesterday the Widnes CEO.

I don't want inside, sensitive information that might affect a deal. All I want is something like 'we know this is incredibly difficult for our fans but we are working through it and we're optimistic of putting a team out next year'.

Saying nothing is so offensive and makes me seriously think about dropping the club altogether.

And if I'm thinking that, god knows what the less committed fans are thinking.

Nearly everybody in London works in the service industry with they flip burgers or are stockbrokers and everybody knows the client ought to be king. The lack of information out of the club shows that there is no concern about the general clients, and therefore will never be a business. In David Hughes there is one important client but that does not make a business.

Some back of envelope calculations for the Super League show why:
Cost of running a club = £4M
Sky money = £1M
5,000 season tickets at £200 = £1M
Walk-up tickets and merchandise = £1M
Result most clubs lose £1M that has to be found from donors.

Broncos would be lucky to generate £1M from sales so DH is in for £2M plus every year.

The RFL have negotiated a deal with SKY for £16M a year over five years. The RU Aviva Premiership (crowds and audience almost the same as Super League) have negotiated a deal of £38M a year over four years.

I don't think Super League would ever attract the same money as the RU audience will be perceived to be bigger spenders for the advertising and subscriptions. However it would like to think that £24M+ would be achievable by a breakaway set of 12 clubs. The extra million would make most Super League clubs viable.

For London to survive I think it needs to be part of the breakaway + a group of fans will have to step up and about 500 pay £1,000 a year for some sort of say in the club + we still need a David Hughes.

The final negotiations going on now should be with the breakaway clubs, and the fans not with the RFL who have organized this mess.

This week's League Express stated that the owners of the training facility were one of the creditors (HMRC being the other) who were going to issue winding up proceedings. The article also said that there was a year to run on the facilities' lease. I assume the club and Rooster Booster will be firing off missives demanding a full retraction.

The article also contained a transcription of the e-mail from Gus to the players on Thursday and quotes from Tony Clubb (who one may want to ignore) and an unnamed present player, which were less than generous in their assessment of the club's present management

At work so don't have time to type it all out, but can do beginning and ending, which are most interesting I would think:

"The club has recently been in talks with the RFL and other parties regarding finding a new home and potential investors to crucially help secure the club's financial position and future. Regrettably, despite extensive and lengthy searches, the club has not yet been able to find those financial backers or a new venu. In addition to this, the club is now being threatened by various creditors who want to put the club into immediate liquidation ... I hope however you will appreciate that, over the coming days, neither I, nor the board, will be in a position to make any further comment until the picture regarding the club's future becomes more clear."

The unnamed player was quoted as saying "We had been told by Gus Mackay and Tony Rea that the club would be okay ... all bulls**t from day one."

Wow. Desperate.

They could have gone to Gillingham but walked away, that is how hard they have been trying. I think it is now over 12 months since it was announced we were leaving the Stoop, what have they been doing with regard to the extensive and lengthy search? It is no good either pointing the finger at the RFL, this current meltdown is down to the mis-management of the club.
