I have no doubt that Wardy will have returned with a few new coaching tricks learnt from the GB tour, but making a silk purse out of that squad as it is looks a tall order. And remember what happened in 2015 when we tried to play SL style Rugby. 12/11 and 7th place.....also, Hughes interviewed on the club FB page said he was happy with the squad. He said something similar at the start of 2014 IIRC....

On paper at least, that squad would need ladders to step up!

They could surprise us of course.

This time last year I had great misgivings about our squad and look what happened there.

Ultimately we failed as we weren't good enough and were relegated.

This is the best chance we will have of getting back to SL for the foreseeable and we need to make the most of it.

We are so light in the backs its incredible, the full back having a legacy of lengthy spells on the physio couch. Lovell is not a second row never mind a centre. Experience in the halves is alarmingly missing. Fozzard is the only decent hooker. Plenty of average forwards to chose from.

We need some proven performers to make that squad look anywhere near decent.

Maybe as we moan, Ward & Langley are dusting off their boots.

Gavin Marguerite has left Toulouse. He scored 50 tries in 70 games for Olympique. He would do a good job in the championship and give us size and pace in the centre, especially next to Armitage.

I read on a French website that he had signed for Saint Esteve XIII Catalans, Catalans' feeder team. Not sure if that's been officially confirmed though.

Cant say I am that bothered about Ioane going. Been a good player for us but not the end of the world. Leigh going for it, not sure how it will work out for them

Mark Ioane fell out of favor last season.It is probably time for him to move on. He might find it a bit different living up there.
I just hope for his sake the money does not run out at Leigh before the end of the season. As it did when they went for it previously !!!!

I think we have a decent squad. Good first 17, after that we are relying on youth and some inexperience which I hope does not cost us. We have the best coaching team in the division and that will count for alot. Lets hope the 3 signings to come are a couple of older heads/experirenced.
