| Quote ="BigTime"I’m not experienced enough in the fine detail of the game to understand what Thomas was doing. Can anyone enlighten me. He seemed to me to be kicking the ball 10 metres and inviting Haven to attach us fro just inside their half.'"
Bearing in mind I wouldn't recognise a game plan if it hit me on the head. But against a not very good team, wouldn't a game plan be to pin them back inside their 20, avoid penalties and wait for the inevitable mistake and look to capitalise with (hopefully) a bit of creativity. Ok a bit simplistic, but a start.
I couldn't understand that kicking, but may be misunderstanding the rules. Deep in the second half I think it was Thomas kicking from around half way. He sent it towards the Main Stand. Travelled about 10m downfield pitching a metre or so from touch. What was the purpose? If it goes straight into touch don't Whitehaven start from where he kicked it? By bouncing into touch don't Whitehaven start from there (so just a 10m loss)? If the plan was for a Bronco to recover it, the only players who might have done were on the subs bench? What am I missing here, because I don't understand what is was offering beyond not setting up Whitehaven for a counter attack if it stayed in field.

| Quote ="jbuzza"In his video, Mustard says we need to give the squad time given there are 23 new players. Wholesale changes to the squad (and coaching staff) was the club's choice. They knew when the season started and should have been prepared for it. A competitive start in the new home should have been a priority to spark the interest of any new fans. The lack of any sort of joined up thinking at the club is very frustrating.'"

For someone with so little RL experience, I vote for you taking over as Coach.

My guess is the final number will exceed 1K comfortably. At a stretch maybe closer to 1.5K, but probably won't reach it. The lack of 400+ Widnes supporters will have some impact, I assuming less than 100 from Whitehaven?
.'"
Pretty close to what I suspected.
Seems pretty solid based on what we know. Less away fans. The AFC Wimbledon offer was Widnes or Whitehaven. I'd suspect most of the uptake was on the former. However good the experience, only so many will return at full cost.
A lot depends on the make-up of the 1,400 today. How many fall in the one-off category? How many are second timers? How many are reconsidering future games due to poor performance etc?
The obvious next target area are local residents. That is the (large) untapped market.

| A family issue kept me away but this thread is so depressing to read.
On the pitch we are clearly in the sort of hole many of us expected, possibly an even bigger hole than most feared.
However the off the pitch stuff is seriously worrying. We are two home games in to a critical relaunch. This really was a game to push to newbies above the Widnes game, given the respective strengths of the opposition.
Yet we have cheap kids tickets and then no offering aimed at kids in the stadium.
The fan zone closed. With so few RL fans in London the opportunity to turn matches into an "event" was one of the strongest arguments for stumping up £200k to Dons. Broncos gave it one game...
A smattering of people in the community stand suggesting the community drive is already stalling.
The club is fast getting to the position where it needs a miracle worker not a marketing manager/ commercial manager. (Two very different skillset.) Quite why anyone with a suitable skillset would want to join a club in this big a mess is a moot point.
Deeply worrying times for professional RL in London. Given the Skolars result, this was arguably the worst weekend since 1980?

| Why is the coach laughing in the post match interview? Could you imagine Shaun Wane or any other coach with winning mentality doing that. Get rid of the clown now. He's no winner, he's a liberal school teacher. Get a hard man in.

| They need to have a replacement before they get rid....
1) Assistant Coach is his Brother, so he would leave as well
2) No Youth Coach who can take over
So who exactly would they put in as Temporary Head coach while they look? Would we have Lovell as player coach? And who would take it, squad is weak and thin, and will get battered most weeks, and no budget to improve as all the money is soaked up in the stadium rent.
Nope whether we like it nor not, we will have to get use to what we have
I think we are stuck with Mustard for the foreseeable future

Start seeking out replacements in the background. There are plenty of managers out there with decent track records without a job or working as number 2s

| I can't see the head coach being changed. Quite simply to do so would be to accept the decision to appoint him was disastrous and would place the competency of the decision maker(s) firmly in the spotlight
Nothing to see here, move along please...

While that is true, can you really see Hughes or his crustacean mate Lobster having the wherewithal to be able to do that without looking stupid?

| I can’t see any changes to management team this season. It’s difficult enough getting a 20 something Northern player to move to London to play part time. By the time someone is 40 they will have a career established and won’t want to be temping or working on building sites to supplement a coach’s job. Also Aussies seem to do their gap year in their 20s not 40s.
In any event, say we asked Ward or Henderson or some such back and paid them 80% of their previous salary to be PT coach. What exactly could they do with a L1 squad. At least they know Coleman hand picked them and may play for him.
The real problem is many of these players are on a 2. Gawd knows how that plays out next year.

Do you remember when Powell took over? The RFL were rightly concerned and offered Noble or the squinty Saints coach that had be removed from post as support. Did they take up the offer.....the rest is history which is why we are where we are today. That was the period that ruined the club. Full salary cap for a local kids coach to use and a prick of a cricket player to manage the club

| Didn't think Nobby had a good word to say about our team. Always put it down to Fulham stuffing Northern in the challenge match in 1981. One of the few really enjoyable days following this once good side.

| Club claiming on Facebook that crowd of 1,411 was our biggest ever against Whitehaven. That's not true. There were 2 bigger home crowds in the Fulham era and also at The Stoop in 1999. Can't comment as I seem to have been blocked there too.

Spectacularly missing the point of attracting people to the games when the OFFICIAL supporters group is closed to selected people on Facebook...fewer that 495 and counting and the usual suspects.
I get it that they don't want a bun fight, but they contribute little to the club when compared to the LBSA who sponsor the academy.
I would recommend that the new Marketing body dissolve the official group A.S.A.P. as they're offering nothing other than division and suggest they merge with the LBSA ad maybe between them, sort out the match day experience with the club and maybe raise enough to sponsor our ladies?
I see the Broncos Official Supporters Group video that was retweeted by the Bronco has been taken down from the Broncos feed.....seems someone has issues separating fans with a smart phone from official club pronouncements....
just seen a video from the Broncos Official Supporters Group promoting the Phoenix Pub...there are 14...that's FORTEEN people in the bar

| Bit of an own goal with the pub. It’s a bit tucked away but when I’ve been in there it was reasonably busy. Maybe they could do it again when it was busy- it seemed an OK space to me.
As to banning of negative comments - it just looks Mickey Mouse. Granted it is all a bit unremittingly negative but that is because people care and are fed up that what was predicted and entirely foreseeable has come to pass. It’s when people can’t be bothered any more that the club needs to worry. Look at the likes on the Twitter feed they have dropped through the floor. I’d be more worried when people switch off. Lots to do on and off the pitch but as you only get one chance to impress (off the pitch) and losing becomes a habit (on the pitch) we may be getting close to having thrown away any positives from the relaunch. SL ground/L1 team very , very weird decision.
