What's the point in signing a load of Australians either?

I suspect it will be more one year loans from other teams academy set ups than 20 Aussies. We certainly had some loans lined up prior to the aborted EGM.

Personally I think the academy is key long run. I'd back short term measures for 2014 of it allowed us / the RFL / whoever to run a proper academy set up. Without that I'm not sure I would be too happy.

I know nothing more than "talks are positive and things are looking better" as opposed to someone over in the UK SL I know from oz saying "I wouldn't go there now, they're gone" a day or two before.

Take from that what you want.

As an example. There are players who have NRL contracts who can get out of them.

It's a remarkable saga, and it's not helped by the whole secret squirrel nature of the negotiations.

However, we are now only a matter of 12 or so weeks before the kick off of the 2014 competition. Putting things off for another 2 weeks reduces that further. There comes a point when all the goodwill in the world can't put a team on the pitch. What are they going to do ? Whip round the local amateur sides and stick seventeen likely lads into a coach with a random collection of kit and tell them to find their own size as they drive up to face Widnes ?

There was a rumour the academy side with a few older heads would play next season.
But as we know the top end boys have been released and the Academy closed.
Maybe a squad of the younger supporters could fulfill the fixtures!!

Well as I said quite vocally several times from the stands last year the u16s and u14s from a couple of teams in the junior league showed more passion for the game and had a better defensive pattern than the broncos in many a game so maybe thats the plan, get the kids from croydon/medway etc to pull the shirt on

So I guess I can confidently take the Broncos 2014 shirt off of my Christmas list now.

Some have signed for Skolars. That's the 19 year olds I mean.

This fat bird may be booked for a date in Bradford soon by all accounts. The mutterings on their board regarding the recent creation of a new holding company and the demise of OK bulls Ltd (900k in debt IIRC) combined with some unpleasant announcements by their CEO at tonight's ST Holder only forum point to their being "trouble up'mill".

I can see why we keep getting into financial trouble, but how a club like Bulls keep doing it is beyond me. Pathetic.

Dont think any of us should be having a dig at other clubs finances, look like the bulls initial problems were never sorted in the first place.

It's not having a dig at other clubs, it is more pointing out to many in the North, that it's just not London that has problems!
