| Quote ="wire-quin"Just got back.
We weren't robbed at all. It was a 50:50 game. Williamson gave so many penalties away for holding down it was untrue. We gave to many penalties particularly on the 5th which hurt us.
Silverwood wasn't good or bad- he gave what he saw which seemed at times pedantic - for both sides.
A dull first half which improved in the second. Its always a sicken-er when you lose it at the last.
The positive I take from it is we played poorly and could have won. Wakey were equally as poor. Both teams seemed intent on playing 5 ish drives and a kick (to touch in Wakeys case)'"
Summed up perfectly for me.

| At least it sounds like we are beginning to get competitive again after last week - a very tough game instore against Wigan next week.
How did the "new" boys play? Skee, O'Cal etc.

| Wigan game a big one as I can't see us getting any thing from the Hudds game apart form another hiding. Sorry to be so negative but with Purdo and Dorn out our attacking options are closed down and unless we meet a team on an off day will will have to work hard to get anything.

| agree about pedantic and he did for both sides and he shouldnt be let near a super league game again.
agree rthat we didnt play well
BUT, last 10 mins how many penalties did he give against us? I do not believe the final kick went over, crowd made a noise and touch judges did elbow jerk. I really get this mad, but i really thought it was terrible officiating.
Couldnt understand some of our decision making:
Why did BM start with Jamie O'C at full back, he was badly out of position for ther Martin try?
Why didnt gafa kick for touch on the final play and waste time? Made know asense and cost us the gamer in truth, Wigan will be tough. Squad spread too thin.......
Skee only had about 15 mins game time, but did OK. Hagerty looked knackered but thats no surprise and good.
Orr, utterly brilliant - a fantastic performance and he did not deserve to lose

| Brough's kick was definitely over, we were right behind it. From Brough's interception to our second try (50 minute in total) we were very uninspired and laboured. I thought Wakey showed more enterprise and gave away fewer penalties. A great defensive effort, and sickening to lose so close to the end, but it would have been robbery if we had won.

| Sorry re last email, no glasses so blind as bat.
accept then that kick went over (though i was behind and did have my glasses. We made too many errors, but draw was the fair result - Wakefield were given toooooooooooooo many penalties by a terrible referee who played to the home team

| It was a medciocre contest livened by the tense finish. We were certainly second best overall though, and rarely threatened to score other than when we actually did. We won't often plunder three tries from such a paucity of serious attacks.
We made a bright start, but the turning point for me came quite early with Gale's carelessly flamboyant pass to O'Callaghan that was intercepted for the equalising try. I know it sounds dull and I've got the wonderful benefit of hindsight, but if we'd just kicked a straightforward penalty instead of running the ball when already 6-0 up we'd probably have gone on to win. I thought Wakey looked well and truly there for the taking after we'd taken the early lead, but that gift of a try to get them back on level terms fired them up and they always looked the better side after that.

Well summed up!
Said exactly the same thing to my old man......you should have taken the two.........it should have been 8 - nil, but seconds later was 6 - 6!
