| We bring friends when they are interested - which despite them saying they enjoy the game - isn't that often. Some of it is the time, it's an hour & a half each way plus game time, so basically a day out, and they've other commitments.

That's the point of targetting a specific day...June 9th. 65 days away.....plenty of time to arrange a "day out" at the Rugby with friends and family...organise travel routes, pick up points...make a day of it....it's a Saturday, so if all that go are "adults"...arrange for public transport home (where possible).....maybe meet up for Lunch before hand in Twickenham or Richmond.....stroll to the ground, watch the game (in sunshine and a win if God is looking down) and into the Kings for a rocking after party with a decent band.
If 50% of ST holders brought only 1 person it would add 15% to the gate (based on our current 2,800).....if they brought 5 it would add 75%
Target the right game.....pray the weather behaves and "ask the ST holders nicely to get involved".......
At the same time, get TNT (shirt sponsor again) to run a 4-4-3 deal.......place an advert in the Local Rag, organise DSWG's horsey charity to be there that day and have a Kids tournament before the game with their final played at Half Time [i and ALL the teams to receive their medals [/iand cups on the pitch at Full time.....that'll make the little buggers hang around with ma and pa
The Band has to be a good'un....try and get a "beer offer" (aussies are fickle) and if Virgin are still interested, then the day should include a prize draw for 2 return tickets to Oz for SoO in 2013.......open to all who took up the TNT offer and to all ST holders who bring 2 or more.......
Get Widnes involved now....call them, explain what the plan is and see if they would be willing to put up some prises like ST's for 2013 etc to be drawn from all their fans...let them in (seperate gate) for a tenner on production of their Widnes ST)....encourage a fancy dress theme......etc.etc....
65 days.......surely it could be done? If Sarries can get 83k to Wembley, surely we can get a decent drowd to a well planned and promoted event.....can't we?

| I decided to come back to watch RL after two seasons of only turning up when St Helens were here, I even bought a season ticket - seemed good value and I'm happy to cheer for Broncos when they are not playing Saints.
I took advantage of the £10 tickets and two 'complementaries' to bring four others along to the Saints game and a couple of them said they will return when Warrington are at the Stoop - so those offers worked to a degree. One of the four has been back twice and is coming to see Catalans. I got tickets for her online for Wakefield and Cats at the same time - only to see I could have saved £5 by only getting the Wakey ticket and taking advantage of the offer of the £10 ticket for Cats if you have a Wakey ticket to show. Some you lose!
I'll try to get other friends along when I can and use the online approach again, I'm targetting Widnes on 9 June to get my touch rugby team players along. I also like the chance to use the voucher from the season ticket at the Cats game to get 25% off merchandise.
So I'm getting some value out of the offers and doing my best to get others along to see some RL. But while I suspect few will come regularly, who knows what a good game (ideally a Broncos win) will do to encourage them to come again.

Another story the club could use ....it's fans like this the club need to "mine"........

| I've encouraged 4 to buy ST's for the first time this year. Took another mate along on Sat who hates league but enjoys the day out.
The ST package is a real good deal. Other than some poor performances by the team(which is undoubtedly costing us many fans)

| Quote The ST holder who brings the most fans (over 25 limit) will receive a framed signed shirt, 3 Premium ST’s for the 2013 season and a box for 20 at the 2013 season opening home game…..
Any fans that bring over 30 will be entered into an all expenses trip to a regular season away game of their choice (not France) including train, admission, Hotel and 100 notes spending money, for the 2013 season….'"
I am quick to challenge GF in these threads and largely this thread has been different to his others but I have an issue with this. Price.
The loss of money from 3 Premium ST's, will all three tickets be used and will those three spend enough to cover the loss made by giving away three tickets? I take it the "Super Bronco" tickets are the Premium ST's you mention? Giving at least three away will result in a loss of £750.
All expenses paid trip is also a massive loss of money! Trains don't come cheap for a start, hotels are fairly cheap and the £100 spending money is another loss. Trains for a group of four will be £100+, hotel will be £80-120, Tickets will be £80-100 and another £100 makes a possible loss of £420. Thats just for one group, if 5 people were to bring 30 or more than thats a loss of £2,100.
Quote ="BroncOnIon"Rocket Roberts unfortunately was one of those who failed to make the transition from GP to The Stoop. Used to be the top notch Broncos stats man too.'"
Why though? These are the people that needed to be contacted, if possible. Griffin Park to The Stoop is about 4 miles apart, its hardly as if the club had moved from GP to East London.

At the risk of opening up an old can of worms, for some folk it wasn't just the geographical distance from GP to the Stoop!

No, it is based on the fact one person would win the competition. GF stated "the ST holder who brings the most fans" therefore there is just one winner to the competition. That winner then wins three ST's at the cost of £750 to the club. Thats a big loss for a competition that wouldn't work.
The idea of redeemable vouchers sent out is a far better concept.

| as a reasonably regular attendee for about the last 10 years and a ST holder for the last two, there is absolutely no incentive with the current offers for me to bring a friend.
I used the vouchers in the book last season but only when it was expedient i.e. a friend had already agreed to go.
I do not need to be incentivised to encourage others to attend. I am an advocate of league I dont need to be paid to be an advocate.
What I think the club needs it to crank up marketing, make more use of digital channels (social and groupon perhaps), run competitions, build interest.
I dont think they should be looking to incentivise the converted, they should be looking to convert others themselves.
Oh and move out of west london - get their own ground and build a business plan around a community stadium.
The club will never build on their fanbase at The Stoop. Whenever I go it feels like I am selling a little bit of my soul, it is union territory and the two shouldn't mix. Different games, different fans - simple as that.

I agree with the points above but not the subsequent ones regarding the Stoop.
I think exisitng fans will bring friends when they think they will enjoy it, not becuase they will get a reward.
The problem recently has been I wouldn't really want anyone but a hardcore fan to experience our performances.

| The maintenance costs involved with owning your own stadium can be quite high. Thats why you need a 'partner' in to share the costs if possible such as ourselves at the stoop. Also why clubs are keen to hold rock concerts etc.
If Sky paid us a better wedge we could cover the cost from them.

In his case it was a combination of things. Maybe more difficult access by public transport (I think he lives in St Albans) was one of them but his other weekend pursuit, rocketry, was a growing conflict, I think his enthusiasm for the club was anyway waning, and other stuff. He just moved on really.

1. Price. You assume that the 3 premium tickets would all be won by existing ST holders......they wouldn't. They'd be won by the ST holder and his guests as a way to encourage these NEWBIES TO BECOME REGULARS. Drug dealers use the same tactics quite successfully...
750 in potential lost revenue is better than spending 15,000 pounds on oyster card wallets for the workers at canary wharf....or 10k on a video seen by 2,000 people with a traffic warden getting tackled by a shopper?????
2. All expenses trip for the St holder and partner, is about 500 quid all in..........there is only one all expenses trip on offer BTW........I missed out the word draw....entered into a draw for....
3. Yes, you do jump on my ideas a lot.......but rarely offer anything other than criticism...why is that Moe? I patently have the best interests of the club at heart, but you seem to try to pick holes in most of what I suggest?
4. I clearly stated that I had typed "out loud" and some of the ideas would need refining...you chose to ignore this and try and score points....why is that Moe?
The FACT remains that the club are currently on an average of 2,800, down about 13% on last year and if they don't get clever.....we can all slag off the Skolars in a couple of years, because 28k in ticket revenue doesn't cover 30k in rent on the ground and David Hughes won't always be around to bail us out.
By the way....to invite all those fans who watched us at Brentford to come to the stoop, you'd need an address for them......something the club have never collected and compiled. Simple maths dictated that I needed about 250 names and addresses in a contact list to fill a 75 seater coach to Wales and a 50 seater to Wakefield.......see Moe...it's not just about suggesting stuff...I've got my hands dirty as well....

My error.....£5k on 15,000 wallets....and I believe the hire of a basic crew to film a video for the day and then edt and produce is very close to £10k.
Regardless, 3 Premium ST's at a cost of £750 and an away day for 2 at £500 is a damn sight cheaper and I would say far more effective than giving a Rodney or Rupert in East London a new wallet for his buttlers travel card
30p for a travel wallet is not a bad cost....but it depends on what you are marketing and to whom.....London Broncos RLC to school kids in the borough would be a good use of them for example...... each one with a family ticket for a tenner inside

| I've been a beneficiary of some of the vouchers before & it has encouraged me to come to games more often than I would have otherwise. But i dont come to all games. I'm already an RL fan, just found the atmosphere was lacking at the Stoop with poor crowds & poor games.
I've also tried to encourage other people along, but never managed to get them to come more than once. When I first moved to London I got a group of about 10 to come to a game from work. It was a good game, but none came back again (time it takes up to get to the ground so it effectively takes up nearly all day, the number of other things they have to do)

| To be fair that video could have been made in house, with a broadcast quality vid and a simple editing package. Looking at it iDVD would have done the job never mind Adobe Premiere. Whether it was or not, I wouldn't know.
At times like this, I wish Gutterfax wouldn't brandish figures like £10,000 around without actually knowing. What happens is people get this £10,000 figure in their heads and think how it could have been better spent elsewhere, even though we don't know if it actually cost that or not.
You see, despite him having the greatest of intentions, (of which I do agree with most) this makes it look like the club has wasted money, when we don't know the facts. We don't know who or how it was put together. It paints the club in a negative light.
