I agree with you. I think it's more likely to be another example of Brian being sharp with the press after a disappointing loss, in the same way he was after the Millennium Magic game last year.

Our game plan is based around not making unforced errors or penalties and then taking advantage of our opponents errors when we get into their 20 metres.
Against Hudds the basic errors came up like a bad rash. When we got into a good field position we wre usually devoid of any idea about what to do. Wakey seem to base their attack around Brough's kicking into their opponents goal area and hope someone on their team catches it.

It may be a lottery but at least they put the opposition under pressure and ask questions. Most of our attacks were just down a blind alley.

I agree, keep it simple, Gale and Orr can supply the kicks and we could get Jon Grayshon on a ladder on a giraffe and he would get it every time.

Seriously, I think the Wakey method is the best we can manage, unfortunately the best catcher in the side is Howell!

Funny how winners like Tony Smith, Daniel Anderson and Brian Noble don't act like that though.

To be fair Lister, on game day, once they cross the white line. Instructions are all a coach can give. Even then it's through someone else.

Anyway, I think it's entertaining having a coach who tells it like he sees it, and it doesn't depress me when he says stuff like that - he's obviously right, but it's his job to sort it out and he'll give it his best. Ultimately, his coaching career is on the line.

,cos he was going absolutely mental in the coaches box at times last night,you could certainly lip read what he was saying,and it wasnt as measured as that statement!

If players are unahppy with the coach as has been hinted at on these pages why has Danny Ward just said on London Radio he is happy with London, loves the experience, enjoys the way the game is developing and that is why he and 6 other players have signed in the last few weeks to stay at London.

Maybe Danny reads these pages and is wanting to set the record straight in his own way

I and a couple of others have simply suggested that McDermott isn't as good as some people seem to think he is. Look at our home record for instance - its desperately poor. Thats undoubtedly having a knock-on effect on retaining supporters when all our good displays appear to have come in the first half of the season (i.e. not the summer bit) and away from home.

I'm guessing the players do have alot of faith in BMc...this is just a forum with people who'll start rumours etc to rock the boat and build unrest...albeit without realising how it could actually begin a process to remove the coach or build unrest.

Before I get slapped down by someone...which is inevitable as there are some posters who scan these pages every 3/4 seconds to comment on everything....I do think everyone is entitled to their opinion and yes, this is a forum and as such you can post your points. All I'll say is take 99.9% of it as either rubbish or some blinkered view.

I mean we pretty much have scrapped a team together over the last couple of weeks to play...injuries hit us hard every year mainly because we spend the money on the first choice 13/14 players and then panic when they get hurt!

I think BMc is a great coach, who cares what he says to the media?? I wouldn't be suprised if the media twisted his words......I mean, we've never heard them do that before have we?!!

The club have to put up with Brian's outbursts when we play badly, he is passionate, that is the way he is. And to be fair he usually only does it a couple of times a season. Ideally. criticism of players is best kept behind closed doors, at least he does not criticise individual players. A stronger PR person could try and persuade Brian not to explode but I can't see this happening. He calls it the way he sees it, and I much prefer it to Tony Rae speak. What worries me is that he seems to lose his vision as to where we are going purely on the basis of a few bad displays. He must take the longer view, which is we are getting better and stronger, albeit slowly.

It is frustrating. but half the teams in the SL would snap up Brian if they could and that is one of many reasons why we should support him.

No they dont. He is an employee and will follow the clubs business code as set by the owner. Passion as an excuse is no defence in any other walk of life- Adult films excepted! If he struggles with his comments then maybe he could send his No2 to the press conferences or equally learn from his mistakes-if he believes thats what they are.

My concern is that if he struggles to maintain his composure at the press conferences, how composed is he when the decisions are being made during the game- replacements etc

Any such comments are always of a general nature and not directed at a named player/s...............I seem to remember Purdo being blasted by a few fans last season for making a similar, honest, general statement.

I for one am glad that he is at Quins, the team has improved, Quins are gaining more respect in SL and despite our current form I think we are going in the right direction. He is recognised as a good coach and earning the respect of his peers........get over it people, it would be a sad day for London RL if he left.

I like him as coach but no one is beyond criticism or reproach. He caused a stir after his comments following the Catalans game in Wales.
