To find the result google St. Helens reserves and follow your nose. We lost 60-18. Judd Greenlagh scored twice Jacob Thomas once and kicked all 3. Ferreira was sin binned. Recognised the names of the 3 academy kids in our 1st team squad not the others U18s I assume.

Should we be recruiting from hills hoists wests etc for our reserves?
I can't believe there's a chasm in standard to what we have now.....u18s or kids in 2nd grade league doesn't work....you need gnarly seasoned players.

Work permit issues for some. Others just wouldn't want to do the travel / required level of commitment for pin money realistically. The prospect of weekly hammerings won't help.

Playing at Ealing, on the main pitch, short travel etc.....shows up Wimbledon as an even bigger mistake |

It's more the away travel. In my London days I knew a few people who turned down Skolars to continue playing recreational as they didn't fancy traveling to Cumbria for £25 or so a week

I see.
It's a shame, because I remember the hoists being better run than QRL before I left. I know it was about a load of overseas guys seeing Europe etc, but they had social media, sponsors and events nailed down. |

I could make a slightly snide joke about our capacity to run 1 reserve team but not 2 but won’t bother.
Are there any players who seem to have something to offer for the 1st team? I assume Ramsay and Thomas are playing for the reserves. |

Found team info here but it is not all present and correct. For example, Jy-Mel Coleman did not play. He and a seemingly injured lad has subs bibs but not not take part.

2) Jy Mel - really is that where we are now?
3) Ryan Cane who rings a bell as an Australian Skolars player with a really extravagant comb over in the style of Bobby Charlton. I may be wrong. Really what on earth is the point of us having a reserve team when we don’t have the players and aren’t using it to bring players on? Thomas, Allan and Ramsay played for Skolars today in yet another comfortable loss. Is it helping their development? Who knows. Genuine shambles. |
