| 2nd half was abject today, toothless and clueless. Was listening to BBCLondon on the way home , I know its their job to big us up but they must have been watching another game!
KR's defence was very strong and we had no attacking guile to get round it.
Our support play was non-existent - must have seen maybe 3 breaks in the second half where the ball carrier looks around to offload and there's no-one there!
Several players out there were not fit enough for 80 mins of RL - Dorn was clearly still suffering from last week's injury, Melling didn't look too clever and now it looks like Randall and Wilkes are on the injury list too. Time to blood a few of the kids? Or do we try and bring in more loanees? And what's up with Karl Pryce? Is he injured? Cos if he's fit and not playing why are we paying him to be idle? On paper our 19 for today looked good but in practice........(you can finish this sentence if you like)
Very disappointing today, especially so as there seemed to be a real bit of a buzz in the West Stand , people seemed to be confident about today's game - how misplaced was that? Think the match announcer put the kibosh on things when he said 'a win today will see us go above HKR!!'
Have we seen our last home win this year?

| Quote ="jaybs"Today was pathetic! what happened to to same team that performed last week, Hull KR wore their hearts on there sleeves and showed us up in the end, the usual inconsistency if anyone came for a first time last week and enjoyed it would they come again? No! except the few die hards that post here.
It is easy to knock off the sidelines at David Hughes, this season has been a disaster and we have to accept it, what would be the point of throwing money at the team and marketing now? completely None! it would be money down the drain. All we can do is sit back for 4 more weeks and see if we are awarded a Licence, if not, then give up the dream finally, I will just stick to my West Ham and hope we can gain promotion from The Championship, even though I hate our new manager bog Fat Sam!
IF we DO get a Licence, then I genuinely believe there has to be some substance in the way the club will be looked at in 2012, yes we Have to stay at The Stoop for the time being, NO! we do not have to keep the name, thank goodness of Harlequins RL any longer! Will David Hughes bring in the marquee players I do hope so and a Top Coach to work with Rob Powell, is there going to other funding for the correct Marketing? again I Hope so, Wigan get it right! though a club like St Helens like us don't?? are the RFL going to make sure we get it right off the filed again I Hope so, perhaps Sky will make this work once and for all! all the whining in the world can do nothing until we know If we are getting a Licence, then we have to give it a chance and get behind The Club, whatever.
Yes I know I will get knocked! but if I have stuck it since the Fulham days and with West Ham with all our ups and downs since the early 70's I am not going to jump ship yet!'"

| And on the game, positives, Purdham is back, and played very well when he was on the pitch, was one of our attacking threats.
My MOM for us was Clubb, made metres constantly, even with his hurt lip, he could shout at the rest of the team. Our forwards weren't bad, they made metres every now and then.
Our attacking and support play is non existant when Dorn is supposably injured, which apparently he got injured in the first half, he was non-existant in the second, he touched the ball more in the last 3 minutes then the whole 80.
Personally, I wasn't very happy when at 15 minutes to go it was 0-16, then the team decided to stop trying at about the 7 minute mark. The score flattered Hull KR grately, they were able to finish, credit to them, but our defense was woeful at times, arms flying all over the place.
Was disappointed not to see Rob Thomas on the bench, thought he made quite a good impact last week, and he's big.
But all in all, wasn't happy with the game yesterday, to put 40 on Wakefield, and then to be nilled by a team that hadn't won away from home yet. Guess that shows how poor Wakey's defense really was.

| Unnaceptable to be nilled at home by a team only 1 point better off and without an away win all season. Little clue going forward, a series of 3 or 4 consecutive penalties in then 2nd half and nothing gained from them. Breaks were made, Clubb and either Bailey or Ellis but when getting close to the line and looking to offload, no support!! Kicking game seemed to be back to its normal poor self again. Big disappointment after last week!

| I wouldn't say our kicking game was that bad, it was on par with KR's bar one 40-20 attempt which ended up getting them a goal line drop out.

| How don't St Helens get it right, marketing wise? They don't need to market the sole brand in the town. Everyone of all ages knows about the club and follows them in one way or another, the Saints have it spot on.

Im not sure what game you watched. Dobson's kicking was excellent all game. Ours was atrocious all game. Our halves were completely pants. Gale didnt put one decent attacking kick in, despite KRs line defence being solid. And how many times did we kick it straight up in the air at the end of a set. Embarrasing. Dobson owned our halves. They wanted it more, simple as that. More focussed, ran harder, kicked better, supported more. And that p*sses me off, especially at home in front of your own fans against a poor team. I don't include Clubb in that.

| Quote Unfortunately Chad Randall hobbled off with ankle ligament damage, Chris Melling popped a rib cartilage so he played jabbed up. Luke Dorn had two jabs during the game, Tony Clubb had to leave the field with a blood bin because his tooth came out and Ollie Wilkes might have torn his bicep.'"
[url=http://www.league.quins.co.uk/rugby/13655.phpMight[/url explain some things.
I thought for the first half hour or so when it was 0-0 it was a tight game, but we were slightly edging it.

| Funny how you only get one perspective actually watching the game and then sticking around in the bar afterwards. On Saturday I had to leave fairly promptly and as a result listened to Radio Londons post game. On leaving the ground I thought it was a disgraceful capitulation but then you hear about the injuries as per PTBs post of above and some degree of perspective comes in. I had no idea Wilkes and Clubb had to go off or that Dorn and Curtis had jabs although I did see Curtis holding his ribs. It's alright watching on Sky when "it's down to Bill for injury news" but a bit more difficult watching live.

| yes, the injuries do put it into perspective, but why didn't HKR have injuries, once again we are out muscled and out sized. I hope the guys are OK, it is what I like about RL the players put their bodies on the line. The commitment is incredible.
