| Riley robbed of a hat trick, and Cas get a pen.
if the guy doing the commenting who lets be honest is a neutral and not a Quins or a Cas man, can say that the ref been more then fair to Cas in this game then Riley was robbed of his hat trick on debut for us.
And no before anyone jumps on my back and telling dont go blaming the ref for the way we have performed i know that we were bad and wasn't down to him ok. I was just pointing out what the commentator had to say about him.
At least he said the attack was a bit better. so makes you wonder why now when to late RP moves Bailey to SO. (was this anything to do with the alleged heated words in the dressing room after the Wigan game). If he done this a few games ago maybe (just maybe) some of those close game we lost couldnt have been won.

| Don't post very often, but thought that I'd get a few things of my chest after another miserable performance.
Something has to change and that either needs to be the manager or the recruitment of a defensive coach. However having watched quins(broncos) for the last ten years I'm not sure that will make much of a difference. We just don't seem to have enough big and aggessive players who can defend and just as importantly give us go forward.
I can't complain about the service that the likes of Tamata and Ward have given us and Ollie seems to be carrying the pack on his own, but both Ward and Tamata are lets be honest past it and have both suffered bad injuries over the past few seasons.
Our backs are basically lightweight and our halves(if they were good enough) don't have a platform as the forwards don't punch holes in the oposition defense.
I see Randall has moved back to hooker in the last two games, but I don't think that this will make much of difference as he is not even half the player he was when he first joined us, injuries have put his best years behind him. I have made a point of watching Randall in the last couple of home games and he seems to be blowing hard all game long as if his fitness and body have given up on him.
I'm not sure that when Purdham comes back he will make much of difference as he seems to have gone the same way as Randall.
Finally, on another depressing note our average 'against' record in the last ten league games starting back at Warrington is 44 !!!!! Our average 'against' from the first 5 games is 16 !!!!!! Was it the beating tha Warrington gave us that lost the management/players the faith in the defensive system we had adopted or was it just that the other teams were yet to get going ?????
I can't see us winning another game this season if we have to score 40 plus points a game to have a chance !!!
Rant over.

No idea what the penalty was for but the rest of the game Quins were favoured by the referee. Got away with lying on, holding down, blatant offsides. As usual inconsistent refereeing.

| Quins coach Rob Powell said: "I thought we were pretty good in the first-half but I was disappointed with the second period.
"I felt we were unlucky to be behind at half-time after we had slightly the better of the first-half but in the second half Rangi Chase started doing his bits and dominated the game.
"It showed the massive effect of quality kicking. The difference in the two kicking games was a massive part. It just drained too much juice out of us defending repeat sets.
"We we put in a decent kick we didn't have a decent chase with it so we let off Cas too often.
"When Rangi Chase starts doing those things and Castleford get a roll on they are a difficult team to play against and we didn't cope well with it because we used up much our energy defending the kicks.
"We learned a bit of a lesson in the quality of the kicking game.
"We still have a slight issue that when we take blokes off the field we struggle as a team and the blokes who are coming on have to do better and that's something we need to address."

| Why bother with a new franchise they won't be any fans to watch. They are depleting by the game I'm not wasting anymore money on tickets. 15 years as a season ticket holder but I have more to do with my money than waste it on inept players and second rate coaches. It sickens me to watch a team I thought were fighters turn this poor with no fire whatsoever in their belly and absolutley no interest or pride in the game. You could blame the team but maybe they are as heartsick and depressed as we are through poor coaching. The team have got progressively worse each season for the last four seasons. There is nothing to watch they are boring and poor in the extreme. No interest, no professionalism they don't even have a schoolboy knowledge of the game. How can the backroom staff think of marketing the game when there is nothing positive there. David Hughes may have been the saviour but he could alaso be the culprit. He employed a second grade coach after weeks of interviewing, surely there was something better than Rob Powell out there. I can't take any more of this, it hurts too much, time to do the same as the team and throw in the towel.

I will throw in a few 2010/11 Premier League football teams in here; Wigan, Stoke and Blackpool. None of the three have the greatest players, nor the deepest squads. All three managers are very different, and the make-up of the squads are a mixture of foreign and domestic. Wigan Athletic seem to get by with poor support; taking only a 80 odd fans to an away game. I could carry on with the comparison but they seem to get by being either well-drilled, atack minded or solid in defence. They seem to show passion and mental resilience. We could be and should be at least ticking these boxes, but I would say that on the evidence of the last 18 months there is something rotten to the core and that is the mental attitude. We do not have great players, but I still believe them to be good players, and I reckon that they needed a Brian Noble type figure to come in and say don't lose your hips there, this guy will always fend with his right hand, this guy will show you right and then come inside, attack the ball in the tackle for this one, etc. This is possibly something that is happening or in my opinion should be happening with video analysis and could be done by anyone on the coaching staff.
I believe that the players do need to show more heart, and I do think a new, if only temporary member of staff, may be able to do that. Shaun 'Bomber' McRae is currently available, I recommend him because we need someone to help the players out, as Powell just doesn't have the knowledge to get him out of this hole.
80 minutes effort and fans will walk away with a degree of happiness, regardless of victory or defeat.

I agree, I am not asking for the world to be set alight with this team, I knowthat will not happen but effort, pride and commitment for 80 minutes would make a big difference

Think about this.
This is the coach that won games at the start of the season.
Did he become shıt after beating some top clubs? Now read your 2nd rate players comment again and ask why we have to get players on loan, who aren't stars.
I don't tend to have a pop at the club, but from 10,000 miles away it seems like there was a coach that was winning. Now injuries came through, we're not. Is that really the coach then?
I reckon the club should have an open week where 1 or 2 fans on here can go behind the scenes for a week, to see training, conditioning, video work, tactics and have access to the sheds on game day to see how things happen.

| A few of your players need a rocket up the backside. Your coach seems fine at the skills and tactics but i'm not sure about his authority. Maybe he needs to have a good shout at them or get an assistant who is a good motivator.
Pryce is the best example I can think of. With the size and speed of him, he should be one of the best backs in the game but he just looked like a useless big lump today. I'd love to see John Kear coach him for a season or 2!
The other thing is who are your leaders on the pitch? Under the sticks after you conceed, there should be 1 or 2 senior players talking to the team, putting things right. From what I could see, the Quins side were just watching Dixon take the conversion. Just little things like that make a difference.

I think that that's the big difference between us and Crusaders - Although I fully expect to see the Crusaders get a good tonking by Warrington on Friday, at least I know that they'll give 100% to at least try to get something out of the game.

Blackpool were winning games at football but went down
Have you condsidered any of the following
Coaches have studied the way Powell had the team playing and have counteracted it
Some teams start the season slowly and gain momentum towards the "Play of the season"
Some clubs gave there internationals extended leave
Just some food for thought

| Perhaps Powell who I backed completely only has one way of playing and has no answer to the coaches who have sussed him, would it not be wise to bring in someone quickly as defence coach? there seems no spirit in the players!

The last two suggest that of course, heaven forbid, it wouldn’t have been to our merit or the way we played, but the opposition being lacking in something. Typical misery.
The first one makes it sound so, so simple to do.
I'm full to be honest. Here's some dessert for you. We don't have a squad to see a season through in a high ranking position.
Let's sack the coach, he's clearly a fuçkwit.

| Strange one yesterday. For those who weren't there there was a hell of a wind which Cas had at their backs in the first half, hence Gale's lack of goal kicking success and the Cas kick offs causing havoc. So only a score down at half time I was quite confident but we just coyuldn't take the advantage and then Rangi Chase started his tricks and that was that. Positives were Reilly and I thought Jamie O'C had his best game for us - the opening try was a belter.
