.......I believe that there is a culture at the club that is starting to believe that it is impossible to attract new fans to the game.......this will have come from years of doing nothing and comparing last years marketing spend against the number of new fans it attracted (56 less than 2009).
PB stated he wanted to change the culture he found at Quins RL when he arrived.....as far as I can see all he did was remove the commercial mangager who sold 1 box over a season and replaced him with a marketing person who has managed to waste money on various stupid ploys



Hard work is the key to anything working....putting in long hours, working weekends if needed, getting the volunteers back on board, leaflet drops,...all stuff that costs nothing other than a commitment to making the club work. As it is, I expect to see a massive increase in gates over the first 2 months of the 2011 season or a vacancy in the back office........that's if PB doesn't nick her first

Do you know what the real crowds were for 2010 as i know that they were nowhere near what they claimed season tickets were only around 800 and for some matches as many as 1000 were added onto the crowd figures the Dragons match being one!!!!!!!!!!

I think you are right in what you say there is a culture at the Quins of just accepting the situation for what it is the whole office needs a total clear out and they need to get some serious marketing people in i stated before there are 2 people in France who i think could do the job if anyone at the Quins had half a brain they would know who to contact!!!!!!!!!!

I am more interested in the insider knowledge with regard to our apparently inflated reported attendance figures. I mean, why would DH accept a tax bill for 1,000 fans who weren't there?
Is the newbie already working at the club? Does he/she have access to the clubs books? Or is it just plain supposition?

Sorry, but gates of 2,000 are only a little worse than 3,000 and I doubt the club will tick that licence criteria box anyway so why would they bother?

Interesting train of thought.....I am still keen though to know why the "newbie" thinks that:
A. Harlequins Rugby League would submit an attendance figure of 1,000 more than actually paid to enter even though the additional £15,000 in imaginary revenue would attract tax...at say 30%...or £65,000 over the course of the season.
B. The solution to Harlequins Rugby league's ongoing problems are 2 people who live in France. I mean to say that my mother and my eldest sister live in France....have they been keeping something from me


C. Harlequins Rugby League have the contact details of these two French Based saviours....Harlequins Rugby League have the contact details for a number of people.....but generally prefer to contact them through facebook. Maybe these frenchies should contact the club.....just a thought.
D. 800 Season Tickets sold in 2010? Was this announced by the club or is it a wild guess?

If the newbie is in fact someone who posted on here previously and has decided to post under a new name after repeatedly telling us they were off I can only summise that retirement in France isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Lastly.....and I may be wrong, aren't the Pollards France bound some time in the near future? Not sure if they'd thank me for this, but I believe the two of them could do a better job at TW2 than Mr Blanchard did.

I would suggest that someone with NO KNOWLEDGE of ANYTHING to do with sport and especially Quins RL would be better......a new broom and all that.

This will no doubt please people who think playing in a modern purpose built rugby stadium is a problem. I think it is a waste of energy and time could be spent on more important things.
