Being in a place where its not possible to "pop" home for long weekend is much easier than being somewhere when you know its for 6 or 12 months.

Was it a vote of the full membership of the Trust? If so shows a rather apathetic attitude to the Broncos question as they say they have over 3000 members.

AFC must be counting on an attendance "bounce" returning to Merton as for season 2019/20 at Kingsmeadow they average 4316 in a 4850 capacity stadium. So they will need a huge increase to the average to service the debt which i think may be a struggle after the honeymoon period. If they are relegated, even more so but happy to be proved wrong. The Broncos money could be vital for them. As said elsewhere, can see no reason why AFC fans would turn up unless season ticket holders get a free ticket like 1980 Fulham as the team is a long way short of what Fulham introduced London to in 1980.

In fact, there was 472 votes for with 43 against and 1 abstention.

Errr rugby league fans, thats the usual. Are you seriously suggesting the move is based on the assumption wimbledon afc football fans are going to suddenly become rugby league fans.
I would suggest very few if not zero ealing trailfinders union fans started watching RL.

Plenty of Harlequins fans gave us a go - unfortunately we quickly managed to alienate them and they never returned.

I was (am) a Harlequins fan and only tagged onto the Broncos when we became QUINS RL. 3 of us gave it a go, the other 2 got fed up.

I know at least 6 Harlequins fans who followed the club across to barnet and 3 of them regularly attend ealing. There are at least 2 Quins fans who post on here and elsewhere.
The club have always used the line "we'll attract our hosts fans" but never really bothered. the double header was evans idea at Twickenham. London broncos struggle with any concept of marketing as shown by the adhoc and unjoined up sporadic bursts we've seen over the years.
No plan. just get some money, spend it on a bus-stop/travel card holder and hope it works.
It'll be the same at plough lane. Initial interest with no follow up other than to maybe try and sell a few polo shirts

Thanks Gardener, that seems contrary to what AFC have been saying all along about multi use of the stadium. They have large debts that need servicing. However, there are a shed load of flats on the sight so can see why they're not happy.

A lot of whinging about "what if's" after accepting that they won't go over the allowed 104 games a year....and that's the only important thing. The Ground was built to benefit the local area and therefore, it being used as often as possible is important....I reckon local Pubs will be delighted of the friendly passing trade that we bring.
You'll find that the "local residents/businesses' cited are a handful (if that) and whilst they may have to endure an additional dozen match days, the fan numbers of London Broncos are hardly going to require road closures.
