I don't think your assessment is right; on today's performance it could appear so, but there is a core of the team that are (were?) good players and don't become useless. They didn't operate as a unit today and had only one idea with ball in hand; coaching (in all its facets) would appear to be lacking?!

Can't. If you say there were more than the Wakey game (3,68icon_cool.gif and they reported 2,819 today, either they lied about wakey, counted free tickets allocated for Wakey as part of the MASSIVE marketing campaign or a load of East Hull finest jumped the fence

I agree that the club has been run badly and I agree that DH is the only person to still have much credit at all, but HE WAS RESPONSIBLE for employing pretty much everyone currently at the club. He doesn't sign the players, but he signed the coach who assembled this squad.
Back office is harder to quantify as we don't know what restrictions are in lace on finance, but you have to ask what the point of having a marketing person is if there is no budget.

Which core of the team is still present, that SHOULD be performing? I am struggling to identify our core now.

Whoever is in charge of marketing or whatever etc needs sacking. Simple as that. I could do a better job as a graduate. You could do a better job being other side of the world. The money is there, or has been there perhaps, as everyone claims a cut. Ideas are there, just so badly implemented it is a joke

If you hang onto the ball, kick effectively and make some of the play in the opposition half you ship less tries, don't you? If your always handing the ball over then you expect the opposition to come at you.

TBH it could be argued that conceding 52pts was fortunate, Rovers were knackered from the off given the Derby game on Friday which caused several chances to go begging today...

2,771 average so far this year. Compared to the same teams last year (3,234) we are 463 fans a game down (13%).
Do the club stick with the marketing plan they currently have or do they cut their losses, fire someone and employ a consultancy on a retainer with bonus payments built into the contract? If there's no budget for marketing, why have a marketing person?
The viral and the oyster cards didn't work and facebook was laughable. All of these things are being paid for by David Hughes so why is he happy to let this continue?

To be fair Rupe was a ST holder for years since Fulham days and I did see him put his hand in his pocket and pay thousands of pounds to follow a team he loved all the way to the WCC here in Australia in 97. I bumped into him at both the Canberra and Belmore games.

It's okay to talk about Marketing of the club gutterfax, which most of us accept is a serious problem, but you have to have the Product to market and it is pointless with what we are producing with performances, you can attract as many new people as possible with innovative marketing, but would we keep them, on our current state No!

I agree 100%.....but when I first met the club (2 years before I even became a supporter) the team was doing OK and they STILL had no cash for marketing. This is a problem of their own making. We had 2 Play-off teams to market and the 1 game that was marketed properly (IMO) we had a gate of 6,500 at griffin park. What odds us getting 6,500 for Leeds this year?
We had a product......even up to half way through last year we had a product that could be sold. Now......I honestly don't know if anyone could sell what's left of the club

Rupe, the only people clapping the s**t that was on offer on Monday were a handful of the "Loyal & Loud". To be fair, most of their applause was drowned out by the booing.

If I was in David Hughes position my biggest wish right now would be for BMcD to be offered another job or resign. Unfortunatlely, he seems too pig headed to resign and realistically we are clutching at straws for him to get another job. However, while that possibility remains there is perhaps has no urgency to act as the damage is done for this season. I would certainly not be giving BMcD any money that may have been freed up to replace Wells, Robinson, James. He would surely waste it and it is best held back for his replacement to utilise.

Poor doesn' t come close to describing how rubbish we currently are.

The club runs at a loss, the team are losing and folks aren't turning up to watch. The answer is not:
1.. Firing the coach, which will cost more money (Who employs and has the right to fire a coach - David Hughes).
2.. Spending money we don't have (Who tolerates defeat after defeat - David Hughes)
3.. Walking away and allowing a club you have selflessly supported for years to go down the tubes without finding someone to replace you (Who is losing money hand over fist yet really doesn't seem bothered by it - David Hughes)
4.. Not apply for a new licence, especially given that the criteria aren't solely winning games and increasing crowds - the whole point of the licence system is to allow clubs to grow in a stable environment (Who has created a franchise that is an insult to Super League - David Hughes).
I don't doubt that DH is as gutted as the rest of us with the losing run we're on, and I strongly doubt he enjoys throwing money into the pot - I'm just glad he's around.

I wonder if things would continue to be left to rot as they have if relegation was at stake ?
