Unless that becomes yet another 2 weeks.
Sorry for the few young players still contracted (5 or 6 of them). They know no more than we do about what's going on.

| Gutterfax. What constitutes being Irish. Are you Irish cos you're born there? And finally are you Irish born?

The Irish Diaspora is estimated to include close to 100,000,000 people, which is not bad considering the Island of Ireland has about 6.5 million people. Any one of these people could answer a question on a census questionnaire regarding "heritage?" with the response IRISH.
Irishness (sic) in a sporting sense is usually along grandparent rules, which Sir Jack Charlton, AKA God Almighty, used and abused to great effect getting "us" to Euro 88, Italia 90 and USA 94. Rumours of mothers only having to have drank Guinness were wide of the mark, but of the 22 players in those tournaments, there was at least 9 Irish born players involved. Other sports have also used the grand-parenting rule, including Union, but none of them have managed to compile an "International" team of 24 players not born in Ireland, to represent Ireland. Given the 5th place finish in 2008, the performance at RLWC 2013 shows the level of "legacy" in the last 5 years in Irish RL

No I was born in the QEII hospital in Welwyn Garden City to Irish Parents. I was taken to Ireland aged 10 and placed in a Boarding School not long afterwards....leaving after 6 years to serve 3 years in the Dublin Licenced Trade as an apprentice before returning to the UK to run pubs. I moved to New Zealand in 2009 and am now a permanent resident here. I hold (and have always held) an Irish passport, am a full signed up member of ABE (anyone but England).I played Gaelic Football for Wicklow, basketball for Leinster and Rugby for London Irish and have 2 tattoos, one a Celtic cross on my left arm, the other, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish logo on my right arm.
I can confidently say that if I had been good enough to play for England or Ireland.....I would have chosen Ireland or nothing. I am a plastic Paddy....as were the 24 guys in the RLWC 2013 squad.........or the 22 Plastic Scots, 23 Plastic Italians, 16 Plastic Americans, 22 Plastic Cook Islanders etc.

Blimey. Thanks for the history. So you are similar to a couple of "the fellas" that played for Ireland in that they were born of Irish parents but not in Ireland. And co-incidentally the same as James Hasson who chose his allegiance to play for Ireland rather than where he was born.... England.
Same goes for any of the aussies born of Italian parents.
Same goes for any of the aussies born of Scottish parents.
Same goes for any of the aussies/kiwis born of Cook Islanders parents.
Always loved the Irish myself. Because I grew up with and went to school with so many of the feckers. Victoria Smurfit or any of the Corrs girls are always welcome round my gaff. Even though I don't know them.

| Back on topic. Ian Ramsdale has a clearer picture of what's going on than most of us, and he still finds plenty to be confused about.
Here's his latest assessment, posted this morning

| No it`s not a clearer picture, it`s just a rehash of every rumour that has surrounded these boards for many months.......tells us nothing.
Quite frankly I am sick of the `announcements` regarding our clubs future coming via bloody Twitter or some other social media source or third party, it`s about time someone from the club thought about the few remaining fans as a whole and when they have something to say to have the balls to stand up and tell everyone where we are going with this train wreck of a club.

BTW, I did not say that IR's piece was a clearer picture.

| We so need the enthusiasm of someone like Dr Koukash, that seems to be injecting into Salford reports today “Last weekend’s open day was an enormous success – the fans and people who are possibly new to both the club and rugby league turned out in droves.
“From morning until mid afternoon, there was a regular flow of people coming in to the stadium to find out more about Salford.
“It never stopped. The club shop took in one day half of what it took for an entire season last year.
That is just what we need!

So rebrandings can work if managed properly.
Although if Broncos were a curry house Gus would be a legend.

| London Broncos Club officials issued a positive update on their attempts to find a new home and now have further time to secure their future.
"London Broncos Rugby League can confirm that today (Wednesday) its lawyers filed a further Notice of Intention to Appoint an Administrator at Court," read an official statement.
"This period will allow the club a further 10 working days to hopefully reach a solution to secure the club's future and allow it to fulfil next season's fixtures.

I think they work if significant funds are invested. I don't think very many people would take Koukash very seriously if he hadn't got people like Noble and Morley onboard.

back on thread topic.
I believe that the often used "we can't say more, it's a delicate time for negotiations" is absolute 100% a smokescreen and utter Bollox.
There is nothing stopping the club from announcing everything that I, rammo and anyone else has been told or found out in a unified and professional statement. Facebook, the club site and twitter take a matter of minutes to update....nobody is that busy that they can't spare 10 minutes for their customers....are they?

that's just childish if they are the reasons communications have dried up.
We all accept that we can't expect to know the financials or terms of agreements, but an update...no matter how "generic" would at least keep the few fans we have feeling they are still a part of something....

Exactly - communication is a concept totally alien to Gus.
Any relationship needs words between the interested parties. Sadly now the only words relevant would be
too little -too late.

| I thought this was a thread about saving the broncos rather than a myopic view about the merits of the success or not of the RLWC and whether tubbs or crockett was the real reason for its success or not.
But then again I'm only a southern shandy drinking Broncos fan who fingers and toes are crossed that something can be salvaged from the carnage of a failed rebranding, years of neglect and continued mismanagement of the club I support and not a self absorbed fan looking to antagonise anyone who does not share my point of view or kiss my , whom has more time on my hands than may be good for me.
Keep the faith.

| the problem London will now have is the RFL wont be much help to them as they can't manage more than one project at a time (Big Nige said the league had no sponsor as they were micro managing the Bradford farce last year, look how well they managed that)
Bradford are yet again up shiite creek and Nige has eaten the paddle......so all the RFL's efforts will be on saving the Bulls as they are their own tennants at the Iconic stadium, how bad would it look to everybody if the RFL were left with a white elephant gathering dust and tumbleweeds.....

I have huge sympathy with this view. i have always welcomed both gutterfax and jaybs views/inputs, but too many of these posts have become about the posters - not the subject.
I still hope we survive, i dont care if we play with 13 aussies and 4 londoners on the bench next year, finish 3rd from the bottom, if that means we survive long term?

| Interesting concept from bullinenemyland in the Bradford forum about their Fans forum meeting last night:
- New owners said that the reason that ST holders were only invited tonight was that they were a stakeholder in the club having invested and they felt that along with sponsors deserved to know that they were doing everything in their power to turn club around.
