Well if 4,128 on a Friday night with 5,000 free tickets is classed as a success, then it was, or there again perhaps it wasn't?. Hopefully, a few of the locals who picked up some free tickets will be tempted to come back again.

It was a cracking game and a damn good advert for the "newbies" that attended. If Luke Gales kicking had been 100% we'd have nicked it by 2 points

The appearance of a Chart topping group in the bar as well was a bonus for some !

We'd have nicked it by four points. (Well, six in fact, as they wouldn't have bothered kicking that equalising penalty.) That's nit-picking though, both Gale's misses were marginal from difficult positions. The bloke kicking for Cas was brilliant; I didn't notice who it was, and I deliberately haven't looked up his name, but it was particularly noticeable as they've had a lack of decent kickers in the recent past. (Remember that game where they pasted us 66-12 with loads of our men out suspended, Dorn scored a hat-trick, and I think they kicked something like 5 from 14.)

Cas kicker was Kirk Dixon

He won them the match. "End of". (I hate that phrase, but for once it applies correctly.)

*EDIT: No, of course he didn't WIN the match, it was a draw! (Felt like we'd lost it though.)

What a great atmosphere it was last night, and an exciting game for any newbies to enjoy. I think it was a success, yes 5000 were available and probably about 1000 of them were used, but it made a much healthier crowd at the game, plus most of the boxes were being used by people which is always a good thing.
I have a new theory about us only playing well on Friday night games! Hope we can convert that to Friday afternoons for next week!

The more I have gone to friday games the more I can see the benefits. Bar busiest I have seen since Manly game. Two newbies said atmosphere great and the floodlights make the game better.

When Paul Brown was at the helm I remember him saying at a fans forum (remember those anybody?) that we got 20% off the food sales

Maybe 1,500 taken up, many to Cas fans. Still, you'd have to be Stephen Jones not to find that exciting. Minor gripe though, 7.30 is a bit of a rush for me, even 7.45 would be better.

M25 was a mare yesterday

For once, we actually may be able to persuade most of the new-comers to return for another match.
Those attending last nights game cannot fail to be impressed with the spectacle of Rugby League. It kept you enthralled right up to the final whistle.
Well done to all at the club for a great night out.
(Had to leave straight after the final whistle because of the distance to travel home, so could not go into the bar. Did many fans use the bar afterwards ?)

Because of not getting home until very late I've always been against Friday nights, but somehow kicking off that half an hour earlier, instead of 8:00, seemd to make a huge difference.

Great atmosphere

Yeah it was a good atmos last night, always seem to enjoy my RL or football more under the lights and nice to see the 3 stands open.Hopefully a few of the newbies will have had a good night and want to come back for more. Trouble with Fridays for me is having to come from work and then having to leave almost straight away to get trains home - now if it were a Saturday evening kick off........

Well they have a chance to see if a offer like they made for the Cas game would work on a Saturday with the Salford game coming up at the end of the month. With this game being played at 6pm and in front of sky cams,if the club could work out the same deal from the evening standard for this one it might look good in front of the cams with the stands open and abit of noise like last night.





If they can get a good band in the club too to for after the game and being a Saturday you might get a few to hang round as well.. I would go as far as to say try and get some local schools play a game before if not that then maybe the U18's and see if that gets people there early

1hr 40 mins to do 40 miles on a Friday night, no chance of making it by train. 7.30 kick off on a Friday is a kick in the teeth to loyal fans from outside the M25. I parked my car at 7.25 and had to drive like an idiot on the M3 to do that. If there was more than a couple of games a year on a Friday evening it would be a big problem for me.

I know what you mean, I had to dash to Waterloo to make the 5.13 train and rendezvous with my mate, which meant we only had 1hr 30m drinking time in the Grand Union beforehand. Then after the game we got the train back to Clapham Junction and my friends needing to get the train to Maidstone meant we could only drink till twenty past 11. It was a really difficult occasion
