Anyone who rates Wellens above Minichiello. Well, what can I say?

| Wow, really? He made one drop under the high ball and he made one stupid pass, and he's got his own thread? It's amazing sometimes. He also made a few good catchs at full back, but anyone expecting someone to come out and perform to his best of abilities in the first game on a cold day is living on a different planet to most of us.

I'm now getting texts from people saying he's to blame for our defeat. time to put away the happy pills and get back to reality. Our defense around the ruck got caught out a number of times for James -one trick- Roby.
Its something that can get worked on on the playing field was exposed by one of the comps best at it. On almost every other front we were the better side

Good lord, even I would rate Dorn above Mathers. Have you not seen Mathers play for the last 6 or so years? I'd rather have Dusty turning out at full back.
Apart from 1 horrendous error, didn't think Dorn was that bad personally.

| Luke Dorn scored 13 tries in 2011 in a very poor London side, you do not become a bad player overnight but unfortunately the positive aspects of his game were not on display on Saturday and he was not helped by the gaping holes in defence in front of him that Lomax and Roby could drive a Stobart truck through……I am sure that Dorn will have been disappointed with some of his efforts.
The worry that I have is that his pace has really dipped and this is what he depends on to both score tries and get himself out of scrapes. He had a lot of problems with pulled hamstrings last season and I wonder if this has taken its toll. Dorn`s defence and tackling has never been that good, so if he struggles to regain his pace RP may have to look at other options.

Funnily enough in my day job I am - you are clever.
Maybe I should have sufficed it to say that Luke Dorn would not appear in MY list of top 50 full backs in the world, and if Luke Dorn is people's idea of 'excellent' then Billy Slater must be off the univeral scale.

Where does your hero Richie Mathers rank? Granted, he was very unfortunate to let Widnes score their opening try on Friday night, errors like that are obviously few and far between for him and he is a rock in defense.

| Poor Richard Mathers, he now gets dragged into how badly some feel Dorn was Saturday or is as a full back?? it is one match!
Didn't rate Richie with the moaning about the Widnes pitch and tweeting his photos of his grazes which the media all seem to pick up on and love.

David, therein lies my point. I don't rate Mathers, but I rate him higher than Dorn. I just reeled off a load of names that sprang to mind, but for the record I do rate Slater, Hayne, Tomkins, Boyd, Locke, Hodgson and Greenshields.

| Luke Dorn is a poacher...he wears a poachers hat.....
Dorny is a strike player and has always been "suspect" in defense. I have no idea where PC Plum has been for the last few years if he thinks it's anything new.......and as has been pointed out, 13 tries in a crap team shows his value to the team,..

| Mathers apart from the rare brainfart was a quality player at Wire, and was offered a contract but didn't want to play 2nd fiddle to Hodgson.

| I want to see Luke Dorn on the team sheet, but not in the full back position. He's a half back, but with Witt, Gower and Sarginson in the squad, maybe the best place to play Dorn is loose forward.

Troll ? Really ? I don’t think so. It was serious question.

I think I would be regarded as a regular, and yes, I have seen the two sides of Dorn.
He used to be a poacher. He used to be our only strike player. Now we have several – Robertson, Colborn, Sarginson, Witt and hopefully O’Callaghan, Dixon and Caro. Why carry Dorn for sentimental reasons, blood Dixon or move Robertson at full back ?
It’s a shame we can’t see a stat that shows how many tries the opposition score directly from a players mistake / missed tackle.

Finally, an ally !!!! He should be a strike player coming from the bench.
I think the overall view is Dorn is an excellent, valuable player who should be playing full back for the Broncos week in week out. I guess I have to bow to the greater expertise and knowledge out in Broncos forum land.

Not finally, plenty agree that he didn't have a good game, but most are saying that someone with his track record for us deserves credit and shouldn't be dropped for a rookie who's made his debut the week before.

No, he's not a half back. Been tried and failed numerous times there.
And then, looking at all the posts on here, he can't tackle, why would anyone put him at LF?

Still, I guess while you are having a go at our top try scorer, you are leaving Chad Randall alone.

| Dorn has been utilised in the perfect way over the past couple of seasons as tim suggests and I have seen nothing to suggest he no longer possesses the required. Nor have I seen any evidence of the list of players PC Plum listed offering anything like the threat Dorn does. Odd.
And the suggestion of playing Dorn at loose forward? I utterly despair. Stick to Twitter!!
