Exactly the opposite actually. I suspect me and Larry the lamb in Aussie may be a couple of a very small few who stick with the club in 2014.

That's actually very funny. Very incorrect but funny.
I don't see what GF says ever, is that's he's trying to get off. But the exact opposite. He may have peeved a lot of people off, like Rupe, who did get off despite being a fan from Fulham's first game. He even sort of predicted some of what is happening today and was slated, because some of what he said seemed nonsensical.

| Brisbane Road would be good move, quite close to the centre of London and easy to get to/from. With some good marketing and PR behind you, you should see an increase in attendance.
One thing that puts the Mrs off from attendance is that the Stoop is a bit of a nightmare to get to, but it will be nice and easy from Epping

| December 4th has been reported as deadline day.
If the Star is accurate presumably Tony Kleanthous wouldn't be involved? Can't see him buying a team and then not playing at Barnet.

| Morning, W.Q.
As far as I understand, the 10 working day consultation period is up on Wednesday 4th December.
That is when we either officially go into Administration, or are saved by Russell Crow or someone as rich as him.

| What I cannot understand is why the non-indigenous pantomime that is American Football think they can make a go of it in London when RL cannot. 3 games at Wembley in 2014 just announced that will presumably play to a packed house and more talk of a possible London based franchise. Admittedly the NFL success rate in London to date is not exactly stellar - but they are giving it another shot..........
Is it just a love of all things American and sport as theatre, is it the might of the NFL marketing machine or is it just that RL is not getting its act together to appeal to London crowds? There seems to be a huge appetite in London for excellence in sport so I am assuming it is the latter?
Good luck in your fight for survival BTW. If it helps at all as a northerner based in London I see a strong and successful London presence at both community and professional level as key factor to the development of our sport in the Northern Hemisphere.
PS I also heard the Leyton Orient rumour elsewhere

| By the applications made in think administrators Paul Appleton and David Rubin of insolvency firm David Rubin & Partners will take over the running of the club on the morning of 5 December if no agreement has been reached. Their job would be to maximize the the assets of the clubs for the creditors, not sure what this means in practice when one creditor (David Hughes) far outweighs the others and there are no assets.

If this story is running then i think its correct that AK at Barnet has given up. However i fail to see how we can first of all 'survive' next season unless they abolish relegation.

The debts due to Hughes (and Lenegan) are in the form of subordinated loans which are at the very bottom of the pecking order of creditors, so they'd get nothing.

| The administrator also has a legal duty not to run up further debts once they believe a business is unviable. Given we, presumably, have no income at the moment and no money in the bank, they would have to close us down very quickly unless they have a bidder lined up or can sell an asset, i.e. player, to raise revenue to keep us going a few days.

Yes the administrators get paid first and they are not cheap so can't see the assets going beyond that. Hope they checked the quality of the shirts in stock before taking on the job

An interesting post. Regarding the NFL, I think that there's a lot of work to be done before a London franchise becomes a reality. One of the main concerns seems to be whether people would actually go for a season pass, as opposed to an "event".
Thank you for your best wishes for RL in London. Your point about [ia strong and successful presence[/i in London is right. The trouble is that I think it would require buy-in from the game as a whole to achieve. I'm not sure that the situation of the last few years has done anyone any favours.

| All the 'Daily Star' story is saying is the LO have asked Wigan about any pitch problems. Given that the article doesn't say when this was, it could go back months.

There were two international rugby league games and two NFL games played in London in 2013.
The rugby league games attracted 67,000 the NFL attracted 180,000.
It shows that there is an appetite for strong competitive sports that market themselves well (regent street/Trafalgar square) and that are shown in decent time slots on the telly (not Friday and Saturday nights)
