I don't understand. What possible benefits could this give our club? I have somehow ended up on Wigan's and Huddersfield mailing list, I just ignore their e-mails. I can't see them offering me a free ticket to the DW Stadium to watch us get tubbed.

| Thing is though, our match tickets are quite cheap enough already (£15 to watch the game from a comfy seat in a great stadium with good entertainment laid on (apart from the rugby! )
I can't see how a lot more Cas fans will travel because of this offer.
Quins fans get nowt from the northern clubs and our travelling fans expenses are £100 ish every other week.(wakey was £20 to stand on a grotty old terrace with a poor view).
Our stewards will be so pleased that there willl be all these extra Cas fans. Those I've spoken to reckon Cas and Hull fans are the most (ahem) challenging of all the visiting teams. Mind you, they normally fight amongst themselves.

| For a Forum Mod you have a serious chip on your shoulder......
Think a bit deeper, would 5,000 Tickets all have been snapped up by Quins Fans, on a Friday night, I doubt it.....
Cas will bring down (say) 1,000 fans (again Friday night, but you know us Northerners, we love bringing our wealth South and squandering it.....), some will have already bought Tickets, plus Kids who get in on Season Tickets, amazing isn't it, how many people in Cas have the Internet (or electricity) to be able to take advantage of the Ticket offer.
Great idea for the club to do the promotion, don't criicise Cas fans for taking advantage, I'll be there with my Southern cousin, free Tickets in hand, possibly with 2 spare, happy to pass them on to you. One of Cas best wins at the Rhinos was made sweeter with free Tickets....

I don't have a chip on my shoulder at all, I am frustrated at how badly this offer has been executed and how our club persisit in screwing things up, costing them money. You must understand that obviously this offer was not intended to bring any benefits to Castleford supporters whatsoever, but an attempt to bring in new supporters in the South, and perhaps encourage a few Quins fans who don't come every week to come to the match. This offer could end up COSTING us money.
Thank you for the offer of the spares, I definetely have 1 friend who wants to come along.

There is no way my friends will pay £14 on the train and £15 to get into a 3/4 empty stadium to watch a team they know are getting whipped every week at the moment.
I agree with the rest of what you say though.

| One thing that may come from this is a decent atmosphere, another thing would it be worth taking a financial hit for one whole season to improve crowds by offering silly offers to attract the masses (preferably in London)?

Can't speak for now...especially with you 50% VAT and 66% TAX etc etc...(you voted them in...stop whinging), but I used to work on 8.5% wages, 30% cost of booze, 8.5% running costs (light, heat etc), 20% tax and 33% profit (rough figures....pedants please note).
So, if this model is still right, about a pound a pint in profit.
Food etc? Not sure. I think the "franchises/outlets" pay to be there.......but as Quins never know if we will get 1,700 or 5,500.....it may well be that these people pay for the year up front. We get nothing of their takings.
Bottom Line is that like it or not, the club has to do something to get people to games. If 1,000 sets of tickets only means that 300 NEW LONDON FANS turn up, with 600 cas fans on freebies and 1,600 Quins occasionals tuen up, then so be it....but if Listy wants to have a pop, then it should be at the last group.....of which, If I still lived in the UK, [uI WOULD BE ONE[/u.
NB: Just a thought. If possible...and if the East Stand is Full...then I would get some photos of this, get them in the Standard and repeat this offer again for Salford at the end of the month......as well as filling the North Stand with Kids...3 sides full would be a great thing to see on SKY TV

| Everyone excepts that the promotion in the Evening Standard was only ever intended to attract new southern based fans to the game and then hopefully get them interested, which means we need to win!
But in the day of the internet no one is not going to try and save themselves money, I know I have entered competitions on websites aimed at certain areas so who am I to knock any Castleford supporters who have picked up on the offer.
We have to take some positives from the promotion, it looked good and increased our profile, as others said we need to build on this and make the offer again the Salford game being ideal, but we need to build on those who have taken up the offer from the London area, should they have been given some discount coupons for the next 4 games? but as I said earlier we need to Win Friday evening and get them hooked with the presentation both on and off the pitch!

Hope our Northern Friends do not read the latest piece from Richard Lewis on the BBC website this morning and a clip of the interview intended for BBC RADIO LONDON, it is Truth, but not what those with vested parochial interests of their club only want to hear on the M62 breadth (mainly East)

| I think the point about we live in 21century and the internet is the most relevat to all of this. I actually dont care where they come from, and i dont believe it will be thousands of cas fans taking up this offer.
It will create a much better atmosphere, and the Club will make some money on the booze, if the team responds and gets its defence in order and actually wins then we might start to gain some momentum. We have three home games on the trot, wul those threee and we will be back - the team is capable as was shown in the first few weeks?
Though i am an eternal optomist when it comes to Quins...........
