| Not that surprised the worky press have taken that view, especially in Cumbria we did not have a good run up there last year in fact we didn't travel well at all.
Last weekend altho we lost it was a decent competition by the sound and not the 20 or 30 point spanking some thought. So yep agree with you, if we are going to be in the mix at the end of the normal rounds it's a game we should take in our stride

| Weather forecast looks OK for next few days to be dry, but probably too cold to dry out that much.
Hendo expecting a muddy one and preparing tactics accordingly:

Less expansive, but high quality, play should give us the win.
Sorry Izzy!

| Have to win this. No excuses, no blaming the ref, no losing focus
We are better than we where last year, and so far our away form is 1 win, 1 loss, and as Oldham thumped Dewsbury, going to Oldham may not be the easy game most folks think.
This is the Game where London prove that they belong in the super 8's. Workingham, Whitehaven, Dewsbury, Batley, Swinton, Oldham, we need to be targeting beating all those both home and away as an absolute minimum this season.
This is a must win game for us. It will set us up for the summer. Lose this, and we might as well book our seats for widnes again in September, as we won't be in the top 4.
Fev, Sheffield, Leigh, Fax and Bulls won't lose in Cumbria. So we have to at least match this

| We had a better squad and a better team than Worky last year (Whitehaven too, for that matter) so clearly it IS the long ole' trek from London thats the problem, we MUST deal with the travel-lag factor or we'll struggle, especially in that strength sapping mud!

| TBH I don't think the Catalans syndrome comment is too unfair based on some of our away performances last season. Must win this game if we're serious about reaching the 8s. Don't care if it's by a last minute drop goal - must win. Losing to the other full time teams like Leigh is one thing, losing to the part timers........

| Seeing that Workington have shipped a 100 points in three games and scored just 28. We should have no excuse if we lose.
It will be a long drive home for the players if we do.

| Why bizarre drop goal decision? 4 points behind, end of the set, what are choices? Turnover ball lose possession, ball in touch scrum lose possession, get the ball in goal 50/50 lose possession or goal line drop out. If no other scoring opportunity on then take 1 point get the ball back and if you can get near line yr 4 points then wins it.
Sounds like a tense one, not quite up to expectations but another 2 points in the bag.
Next week should be interesting

| Good 2 points. We were losing games like this last year. Grind out the away wins. Not doing so cost us our place in the 8s last season.

| Might be a view that we should have strolled this one, I thought we maybe should have done but as you say last year we were losing these games. If we go through the season winning games like this by 1 2 or 3 points I don't care as long as we win them.
The fax batley game looked like a cracker, the boys are going to have to work hard for the result next week.

| Interesting write up on the club site, too many penalties by the sound of it from hendo himself. It us something they need to get a grip of, giving away free mtrs will not win games against the better teams.

| A good win under difficult circumstances. It is a hard place to go and we had to grind out a result which we did.
A dogged team, Workington are a bit of a one trick pony. All their points and creative play came from Jarrod Sammut, their best player by far, They offered little going forward, but the penalties against us, gave them so many metres and put us under unnecessary pressure. Their two tries, one Alex Walker had his pocket picked five metres out and the other, we kicked on the fifth tackle, the ball hit Sammut, he collected it and ran in to score.
We bombed one easy try by dropping the ball and our kicking game was not all that good. We could easily have paid the price because the last five minutes were rather frantic, with both teams having a real go and either could have scored.
However a good two points,
There did not appear to be any injuries to cause concern either. On to next week.
