I was told sat night that Manly have released Shane Rodney from the final year of his contract. He has signed a three-year deal with you. Decent second rower who struggled to make any real impact at Manly after leaving Penrith.

No, hopefully he turns out to be a decent signing. I had hoped we might offer Mitchell and Burnett contracts as I think they have been decent, the latter injured a little bit too much.

We still need to sort the front row out. Basically a total clear out of props, other than Thomas and Krasniqi and bring in some hard running sizeable units to add to the signing of Bryant. I still remain totally unconvinced by the centres, Clubb and particularly Howell, they have no cutting edge or defence, and we have no back up. Lastly, full back, we need someone with spine who is willing to put his body on the line as last line of defence and to be capable of taking those all to regular bombs, and ideas ?

Its a pity we didn't take a look at Briscoe from HKR-he is a tremendous last line of defence

You can never have too many second-rowers. Oh wait, yes you can.



Whilst I agree he's a good player, he also strikes me as the sort of person who gets twitchy when he gets south of Sheffield.

Shouldn't wish me life away but can't wait for this dreadful season to end and 2012 to start.

Good news of course. I am pleased the club has given up on signing second rate Northerners, instead picking up quality players from Australia. There is no point being proud of managing to name a team full of British players when we are getting thrashed. Give me quality rugby league any day.

After losing Wilkes and Ellis i (and everyone else) was thinking we had no hope for next year, just throwing our best players away. But i cant wait to see Witt and Kaufusi in action next year. However the squad still isnt a top eight side. We need more strength in depth but we are certainly heading in the right direction

Not seen Rodney play....but from the Manly fans and Des Hasler....it seems he'll be missed and was reluctantly released. That can only be a good thing, as he must provide something to the team beyond what we have here at present! Would personally release Nick the Greek and put Rodney in his place....must be a huge upgrade...plus keep the quota level



Kaufusi....could turn out to be a great signing....or a bad one....depends if he can stay fit and has the hunger to play over here. He's supporting a family, so I'm hopeful he is here to play and if he shows the form he has this season...he'll be devastating...I'm leaning towards him being a great signing. Not since Solo left have we have a barnstorming ball carrier. Sorely needed...Does he come in on a Tongan passport? Off Quota?

Welcome to both Rodney and Kaufusi...I agree with a previous post, would love to have a full English team, but if the players are crap, then I'd rather have a load of Aussies that help us compete! We're still building, more English (London bred) kids will come into the senior squad in the next few years and these new signings will only compliment them. Great talent spotting by Quins (for once!)

Wonder who else is up their sleeves? We need a decent hooker, atleast one centre that can break tackles (and pass a ball) and three or four more big forwards (preferably in the prop region) and we'll pick up more than the tiny amount of wins we've recorded this season.

Shane started the season in NSW Cup and dislocated his shoulder at Leichhardt. Was out for a while and slipped straight back into first grade in the last couple of months.

Not quite as excited by those two....but two more bodies in the squad all the same



We need competition (genuine competion) for places....that'll bring the best out of the team.

Delighted with Kaufusi, though never heard of Rodney.
