London Broncos coach Tony Rea admitted he was immensely proud of his players and his believes there is still good things to come this season.

The Broncos headed to the DW Stadium without a single win this season and for the best part of an hour they pushed the Super League champions all the way.

Rea said: "We were outrageously gutsy and sensational. I thought we were wonderful and really took the game to them at the start.

"We came up here and really went at the contest. If there is a negative we made too many errors in our own end and we just needed to stay tidy in the middle block.

"We have been building and every game is important to us. I do expect good things for the rest of the season."

Seven tries to three (two right at the beginning before Wigan had woken up and the last at the end when they'd dozed off) and we were sensational??? Dear God, he's finally tipped over the edge!

Just interested what folk expect him to say.
There is a thing called the sh%t sandwich ok maybe not enough filling.

Lack off fitness beat Bronco's last night . It certainly was not lack off effort . They to a man gave thier all .

Yep, we did well, I did get the feeling though that some of the Pies REALLY did believe it was a training session at first! Once they hit the gears though, we couldn't match them, but the effort and passion was there for all to see!

At times we played better, but come the second half and the indiscipline there was only ever going to be one result, just makes me laugh the comments post match from Rea, he will just hang on until the end of the season for his salary.

Well he has to try and be positive publicly lauding the players for ANYTHING good, whilst working hard in training on what was bad, theres not a lot else he can do, I'll repeat myself from several other posts;

"We could have Jesus H Christ himself coaching, and with our squad it won't make one iota of a difference"!

We need an experieced half-back and at LEAST two more grizzled old props!

Plus a two month break in the season while our players get to know each other during training while every other SL team goes on holiday and doesn't even think about rugby.

I don't think Rea should be berating his non Super League squad, nor should he say that we should accept 50 point losses. But when they genuinely put in a shift, then why not pick out the good bits and accentuate them.

Sensational may have to be contextualised or else dumbed-down a little, but we should always support effort shown by players, as their had been a few going through the motions over recent seasons, knowing that we Broncos fans are too polite when compared to our Northern compatriots.

Were we as a group of fans to have been as bit more vocal pre-game, supporting their warm ups, letting them know that people care, and that they cannot get by with a C for effort, rather than in the bars until 2 minutes before kick off then we might not be in this mess. Big call and tongue in cheek, up to a point.

Beer to be dispensed pitchside with kegs on the back, just like they did when we started at the Stoop in 06.

I genuinely believe the score flattered Wigan. I was in the South Stand shouting Laaaandon at the top of my voice. It was part of my stag and I was reasonably intoxicated by then so think I overly celebrated our second try so much that the whole stand was abusing me when they invariably came back in the game. All good banter and at the end we were congratulated for a good performance which it was.
Not sure if you have seen the highlights but the ref had a shocker. If that game had been televised the scoreline would have been so much closer. We had two tries called 'held-up' whgen I believed both (if not one 100%) should have registered and Wigan had another, think it was Sarginson that was nowhere near the line. Wigan fans agreed. shocking display!
Thought we fought hard and went further into the 80 than we have done previously.
For me, the major dissapointment was Mataitonga. Clearly not fit and did not look like he was making much of an effort, giving up if not missing most tackles.
On the other plus side I can comfirm that a night out in Wigan is more than messy and £13 for 9 double vodka's and red bulls, you would not be too suprised about that!

I was also at the game, we DID play really well, CORRECT the REF HAD A SHOCKER, gifted them TWO of the tries,

I was also in Perpignan last week, where we also had a GOOD game, you can clearly see, a improving team, learning to work together,

Only ONE critisism, we actually tried to hard to force the game, if only we could just take the tackle etc against Wigan, the score would have been very different.
