| I sincerely hope this is not true. If it is then it speaks volumes about the club’s ambition, or rather lack of.
Another season like this, under a coach who is bereft of ideas, will surely see our crowds decline even further and play into the hands of those who think we are undeserving of a licence. Or perhaps that is the idea.

I have no issue with the tie in with Quins Rugby Union...so no, I am not Rupe 1 in disguise. Where I do have a problem is the total lack of....well of anything coming from the club.
7th, 9th, 9th, 11th and 13th to date since we returned to the stoop......hardly a glowing record......and one of the reasons we struggle to get fans to games.
He has a squad of players (are we really near the cap?) that he has assembled....if they aren't good enough, that's his problem...he chose them. If they are good enough, then they are being coached badly....again, his problem.
I am not with Rupe1 on a lot of things......but it does seem that DH either has a secret plan to run the club into the ground or has a 20yr business plan which he hopes the RFL will buy into.......because we are not performing in any area.
Team...below average
Crowds....lowest in the league
Stadium......nice...but rented
Finance......only in business because of 1 backer
Development....coming along nicely (though still no under age trophies to speak of)
Coach..........not up to the job, but strangely confident in his own position.

Listy...I do not agree with his stance on the Union tie in or the employment of australians in place of locally developed players, but the question is worth asking.
A coach can be judged on many things, but results and trophies are what they are remembered for.....and Brian McDermott....and I may stand corrected here, is the London Superleague Teams worst performing coach on record.
Tony Currie, Dan Stains, Tony Rea & Les Kiss, John Monie, Tony Rea and now Mac...........John Monie went after a bad season, Stains took the team as far as he could...but the current coach has had 3 years EXACTLY (July 8th 2006).......and has presided over 109 SL games in that time.
W 42
L 64
D 3
Broken down.
2006 W 5/L 4 Finished 7th
2007 W10/D3/L14 Finished 9th
2008 W 1/L16 Finished 9th
2009 W 1/L16 Finished 11th
2010 W 5/L14 currently 13th..........
38% win ratio....no cup run to speak of, no hope of anything this year other than a worse Win Loss ratio and possible the lowest place finish in the history of Superleague. Not even the argument that we have a bad squad stands up....we are told we are nearly at cap FFS.........
Listy, you blame the players all you like. Mac was an assistant coach at Leeds before he came south.....he has proved he is assistant coach standard whilst he has been in charge......we briefly flattered to deceive in early 2009....but the wheels came off and we have not maanaged to improve since.....and it is his responsibility...the same way it is PB's responsibility to get more revenue for the club through more fans......like it or not, he has to go and be replaced by a coach with a better tactical understanding of the game.

Sorry....wrong. I have managed to catch the live sky games.....but I have also read the reports, listened to his excuses/musings in how to take positives from every game and looked at the SL table.....we are crap and it is the coaches fault.....If I remove this years games from the above statistics.......he had a 41% win ratio before this year...he's getting worse
Tony Rea....first 90 games in sole charge had the following record.
L45/W41 D4........45% WIN Ratio....so with Tony Rea in charge, we had an 18% better chance of winning. Not sure is anyone else can come up with the win ratios for the other London coaches in SL, but I am sure Macs 38% from 90 games will be hard to beat.
To be fair, Rea was in charge up until July 2006 and as far as I can find out, coached London in 162 SL matches with 67 wins, 8 draws and 87 losses. 41% win ratio with 2004 dragging his average down (strange year that...sandwiched between 2 play-off finishes?).....brings back memories of how depressed we all were when the pies nicked Moran.......and preceeded to ruin him
Listy............Tony Rea......from 2000 to 2006 found us some stars...players I will always consider London players..regardless of where they went afterwards.....
Paul Sykes (Holds the club goal kicking record in a SL game)
Please enjoy...Nigel Roy...always gave 100%
Denis Moran..twice leading SL try scorer.....and a nice guy with it
Robert Purdham (need I expand)....
Tony Martin....kicked goals for fun and chipped in with some important tries
Rusty Bawden.....one of the main reasons the club sold VB at Griffin Park
Ritchie Barnett....best full back I saw play for us.
Mark McLinden, Luke Dorn (first spell) Joe Mbu (never seen a harder working player...he's be a legend if he had talent).......I even think our best performing forward of 2009 and 2010 so far, Karl Temata was a Rea find......and I could go on...the list would be quite impressive when naming GOOD players that came to the club when Rea was in charge.........please.....let's have a list of the players that Mac has brought to the club who you would class as having fond memoriies of or even performed when here?
Short list methinx!

First of all why use personal insults simply because I hold different viewpoints and secondly I hope you'll be happy when your blind cheerleading results in the club failing to win a Superleague franchise.

Cheers! Looks like those Bulls who listened to it formed same view - and were impressed with the programme generally too.
Bit surprised at the language used elsewhere on this thread, by someone charged with dealing with that if used by others?

Yeah and we spent millions of £ that we didn't have and we went bust when we brought those blokes in. We cannot afford to spend money on such players anymore, and the quota rules are far tighter than they used to be. Rea also brought in plenty of shocking players, but because he had the opportunity to bring in more Australians than is allowed now, some were bound to be successes.

| All we get off gutterfax is a completely objective view of the situation. He can draw on statistics all he likes, but I will keep saying it, McDermott is not the reason we have lost games this season.

| Clueless knee jerker here.............so he is staying (or perhaps the Bulls decided they did not want him). According to his comments on the BBC radio show our season has been all about injuries (you know, those things he never, ever uses as an excuse), but there has been sufficient evidence to show that we are a SL force to be reckoned with. BM is disappointed that more fans haven`t flocked to see us......and we all need to make a lot more noise. The club apparently is in the best position/shape we have ever been. I shall take comfort from his words of wisdom as we accept the wooden spoon.
So, given that nothing is going to change, we have no additional investment and cannot afford any proven, quality signings, exactly how do BM, PB and DH intend to take this club forward and secure another franchise? We will still have a thin squad and therefore can expect some or much of our core team to go missing at some stage next season as precursor to our downturn in performance and results. The back office can work 24/7, but without a good season where you are consistantly winning your home games the crowd numbers will not grow, adding to our financial woes. Nothing changes, but somehow the club expect a different result.......hasn`t this been put forward by learned people as the definition of stupidity.
