Anyone know why our game at your place is on a Friday. We never miss the Harlequins fixture but just wont be able to get there in time.

You have my sympathies.

I think some of our own fans will have a hard time getting to it as well.

We suffer it with Wigan, Leeds, Saints, Reds.....etc year in year out

I agree that other Clubs inc mine (the Bulls) have you down for Friday this year,but that may be due to us playing the Whinos the following Thursday.
That said Quins don't take that many to away games what ever day its played, but I would have thought for home games the Club would want to maximise the crowd base by having Sat/Sun games considering the reported financial deficit. (even Sky don't like to show the Fri Home games of yours so I don't think its them at fault)
The Club doesnt seem keen to offer an explanation but I'm sure someone who posts on here might have an idea!

but have to say even though we do not take many to away games this year we have 7 away games on a fri night!!!!! basically means that any quins fans who want to go to any away games are stuffed!!!

I'm looking forward to a home Friday night game this year.

At present your home fixtures are mainly Saturdays, a few Sundays, Easter monday and one Friday night (Bradford). Twickenham doesn't have any events listed for that weekend that would clash. Is there anything else on at the Stoop on the Saturday? Friday night will halve our away support easily. I was looking forward to a summer weekend in London wrapped around a rugby game. Now that holiday days would have to be used to get there it becomes a different matter.

That is purely because the next weekend is Easter. I think both mcNamara & McDermott would prefer to play 3 games in 11 days (Fri - Thursday - Monday) rather than 3 games in 9 days (Sun - Thursday - Monday)

Thankfully I dont need your sympathy, but looking at the crowds you pull your club could do with my money which on this occasion it will not be recieving.

And the rapid way your crowds are descending, we could both be in the same boat pretty soon.

Though not in great shape we are not doing quite as bad as some other clubs. Check our accounts.

If as a club you can in effect throw the revenue of usually around 300 to 400 bradford away fans down the tube you must be a very wealthy club. Good luck to you.

Kind of pathetic having a tit for tat spat over my club/your club does, because at the end of the day it's still supporters who get shafted whenever clubs schedule games for times/days when it makes it very difficult to follow your team away without incurring additonal costs such as using holiday allowance.

Like it or not, northern clubs scheduling games on Friday night to suit their own supporters or corporate clients requirements are never going to have the equation of an even more diminished following from London factored in, whereas the same in reverse will have usually have an impact upon the QRL gates.

I agree with all of that. I didn't post to stir the $hit and just wondered why the decision had been made. If I were able to book a day off to get to the game I would but the nature of my job will not allow it.

I think the marketing team are trying out a Friday evening game to see what the response is. Bulls game probably picked at random.

Tbh, Bradford doesnt bring that many fans down to us anyway, so it won't be a huge loss.
Will be nice to see how many fans of theirs will turn up though, I doubt it will be alot, then their fans won't be able to mock our away support again.
As far as i'm aware, im going up to Bradford to see us play on a friday night, so these things really don't affect me personally anyway

If it had been a friday game during school holidays then we could have used a holiday day and brought the kids down anyway. As it is the options are a) - don't come down
b) come down using some holiday but leave kids behind - not a good option
c) lie to the school
Not a good set of choices for a RL loving family.

As there doesn't seem to be something else on in the area, the growing consensus is that we have been randomly picked to try out an idea from the marketing side of your club. Hopefully your club can find something that works well and keeps the fans coming - home support & away.



The Bulls actually canvassed supporters opinion a few years back after we had tried out Friday night games - the consensus was to return to Sunday afternoons (TV permitting). Very good of them (although unusual) at the time I thought.

Club have canvessed here for which days to play as well but nobody will be happy with every suggestion so the club needs to focus on whatever is the least evil of them and :1k0p0kgxstay consistent so we need to try things to increase the home gates.

I can remember easily when the visit of the Bulls was seen as the biggest gate of the season for us, but sadly for whatever reason that's no longer the case.

It would be great if, like our supporters who make thoses long trips north on a friday night every fortnight, every supporter who wants to travel away supporting their team could be accomadated, but sadly that will never be the case.

We as a family are going to South Wales (for some reason the Bulls have been selected to still be played in South Wales instead of Wrexham) -conspiracy I tell you! ; France and Edinburgh as they are all Saturday games.

Your management team have wanted to try a Friday evening game - best choice would be a summer Friday. Maybe Bulls have the lowest away following of the summer games, maybe the thinking is the Bulls have the most resilient away following? But yes, I agree, these things have to be tried, data collected, beans counted etc. Just a shame it is us. My uncle is a season ticket holder for Quins RU and we usually have a good time when we get him along to the rugby league!

Friday night may bugger up my attendance as well with travel round the M25 a nightmare.

Anyone bothered to check the Footy fixtures for that weekend?

Simple,Super league aren't really bothered that your 20 odd away fans for a friday night can't make it!!
