I know there is a lot of talk about our weaknesses in the halves but I have no doubt that the real problem this year has been our forward pack. We could bring in a top quality half and stand-off and they would struggle to do much behind our pack.
They are all honest toilers but all bar LMS rarely trouble the defensive line and also have terribly slow play the balls. The forwards are almost always dominated in the tackle and our halves and outside backs are always playing from well behind the advantage line.

Hopefully Wilkes will add a bit to our pack but we really need at least (hoping Karl comes back strongly next year) antother good quality prop and a couple of hard running second rowers ( both Williamson and Robinson are good defenders but not damaging runners)

Another area is some impact of the bench and this is were I think that they need use Clubb as an impact second rower and we obiously need a centre to replace Gafa.

IF we did manage to get a couple of quality forwards then I am sure you find that the performance of Orr, Gale and Dorn would lift considerably.

The old saying in rugby league is as true today as always - Forwards win games - and thats where we need to strengthen.

I agree. We can get the ball into the opponents 30 metre zone but dont have a clue after that.

and defensively we are ok down the middle but garbage out wide - although could that be cuz we compact so much cuz we are actually v weak down the middle?

Yeah but what wide running options do the halves have? Robinson plays as a third prop, Williamson doesn't make himself available much, Golden doesn't make himself available at all.

I agree that the halves have underperformed but that doesn't hide the problem that we have limited running backrowers (Clubb when selected, Purdham when fit) and, without Howell, no-one at centre who will run off the halves.

Maybe you mean you have no problems with the frontrowers and there I would broadly agree - they make the yards and we don't get busted much through the middle 4 defenders.

But where are the offloads? Temata does a bit, Ward does it badly and er..........
