missing a prop off that list... maybe thats what has been happening since back end of last season... not seen any decent props on the field for a long time we jst get battered in that area every week

How come a regime can go over the cap a few times and not be penalised, but a brand new board who’ve rescued an historical club from the brink get penalised 12 points for the failing of someone else?

Encouraging signs. When we failed to take advantage of all that possession in the 1st half i feared for the worst, but well done for staying mentally strong. Amazing how almost unplayable Leeming can be when he's on his game, hes a real jeckyl and hyde character. Massive defence from Murphy and Joe. I agree with Woolford that Joe has been our best player so far this year when he's played he has been a total rock and done well in attack too.

Enjoyed that game, much more entertaining than last nights reefing, grapple-a-thon.
Taken some damage though, I thought Murphy got an elbow to the face not a busted knee.

Murphy, joe wardle and Leeming were the three stand out players for me. Leeming absolutely crucified Wigan in the middle when he’s on that form he’s a joy. Special mention for Gaskell, taai, mellor and makintosh although a couple of wayward passes he got us out of trouble a couple of times with his defence and saved us from conceding. .
All played their part.
I also thought we started to see a glimpse of what frawley could offer.- His kicking game was much improved.

Roberts has been a disappointment ever since that good World Cup. He did only make 6 carries but needs to be doing more. If I was a cynic I’d say since he won a long contract he’s not put in the effort. But he has not played much this season.
With Murphy and probably wardle out next week now’s his chance to step up- needs to be long strides though!

wigan were dreeadful and we should have won by more but i dont care its a win and a boost for everyone.

standouts were leeming who had a big performance, he can do that but doesnt do it enough!!!!

To be fair Wigan had a pretty good goal line defence.

Those stats are particularly bad though. The modern winger should be one of the main ball carriers, and there are plenty of free yards to be had from kick returns and from scooting off the back of quick play the balls. In fact when I saw that I went and had a look at all of the wingers stats from Friday. Carries in brackets.

I haven't included Marshall or Manfredi since they went off injured in the first half.

So he had the joint lowest number of carries and his yards per carry were pretty much half (or less) what everyone else managed. That is really poor for a player of his reputation.

Anyway, it's nothing to do with me really, I was just really surprised by how poor those numbers were, I wouldn't be impressed if I was a Huddersfield fan.

Congrats on the win, hope you can start to claw your way out of the danger zone now. We look a completely different animal after breaking our losing run and gaining a bit of confidence. Hope you can do the same.
